Be really careful with waxing... coz guys have way more oil production i think it is they can often break out in acne, esp on the back. I've seen bad scarring from that coz the hair folicle gets infected really deep.

In all honesty if you have thick hair growth I wouldn't go there. I'm not exactly greek thick hair, but I definately react badly to waxing.

I've had this done at least 5 times - each time the same outcome - nearly every pore gets infected (small whitehead type dots) then the nasty deep ingrown hair / acne scar type stuff.

I've never had bad skin, but after a wax it takes at least 2 months (with lots of sun/UV) to look like I'm not a 21 year old thats been using 2 grams of test a week!! :pfft:

Yeah def agree with these two. I get the odd wax done (back, shoulders, chest), and even if kept up consistently I always get acne after, no matter what I try. Have some scarring from it too unfortunately. I'm not wolfman-hairy, but do have some thick hairs, and definitely can do with a tidy up come beach time.

Need to stick to clippers methinks.

Hy guys thanks for all the feed back, yes i am a hairy mofo just how hairy my nick name is 'wolfman' .

I think I am gona have to do a test day real soon ill shave my legs and arms i think they will be fine and ill try waxing the rest see how it goes I have been told to use an antiseptic cream after so not to get infected.

Tried waxing never again, Wife and Kids did my chest the pain was unbearable, I was nearly crying everyone was laughing. I shaved in the bath hair was soft and easy to shave off :grin:

The first time I ever waxed there was blood(srs) little blood spots all over the place looked like the freckles off the wendys chick. Probably the most painful thing Ive gone through especially the adductor area that is a bitch!

+1 for Hairclippers. When I got my arms inked I clippered them and did a quick razor shave and they were smooth as. Do the same for legs whenever shorts season pops round. Lasts reasonably long maybe 4-6 weeks before I will have to repeat

I find shaving is a whole lot worse than waxing for ingrowns and acne. My first attempt at shaving legs produced a nasty mess of oozing pus. Never again!

I do get some ingrowns from waxing, but there's generally a week before they appear. So if waxing for a competition, I'd get it done about 4 days out. (And yeah - get someone to do it for you - it costs more, but it's worth it.)

But I think the moral here is, whatever you choose, test it early to find out what works for you.

I must be a real man then, I wax my own chest and abdo every few weeks, it looks great and it does not hurt....muchm I did pay someone once (it was the first time) now I do my own. I shaved my legs a few time but always end up looking like shit so I might just have to wait for a few weeks and try waxing them. Cant be any worse than waxing my chest and stomach. Have fun and give it a go after you have paid someone for the first time, much cheaper and it does not hurt as much. \:D/

Some parts yes, but I got over it, it makes it look better, and I also have to do it every three weeks to keep the look.
