Yeah could do at this bodyweight.....but thinking of dropping in bodyweight as currently 117kg and at 5ft 9, that's alot of weight to carry around. Can't even walk up stairs or around a mall without feeling it!

If I could do similar weights at say 103kg.....would be ideal \:D/

the beetus has its talons on you brah!:lol:

Cheers bro, see you're back into it! No comps this year? Just next year?

Yeah back into the grind for a few weeks now, feeling good. Nah I will be doing Nats, but with such a short buildup getting back to where I was before the holiday would be a dream total for Nats. I don't expect that however!

The target is just to qualify for the Oceanias in Sydney in December which requires only a 635kg total, and I need to compete at Nats to qualify for the Oceanias (otherwise I wouldn't be making the big trip down south ).

There I'll be getting into some equipment finally, so following nats I'll be training equipped 8) Maybe do a Novice and/or BBro in the buildup to the Oceanias just to get a comp or two under the belt lifting equipped.

Long term goal is Worlds next November in Norway :) And then likely the Commonwealth Champs in Auckland if I've not pissed off travelling again following the worlds :shifty:

How about yourself, what's your next target? (apart from Akl Bench) Doing Nats also?

You'd be bloody impressive in the 105s mate  You're impressive now, but keeping your strength and in a lower weight class, think of the wilks

Save a lot of money on food too

Auckland Bench Comp on Sat with BB and the CBC crew. Awesome day with some good peeps and a whole lot of fun.

Weighed in at 118.4kg.

1x220kg - good

1x235kg - good (record for 120kg class)

1x242.5kg - good (record for 120kg class)

Not enough to win the day, 6 wilks points of big Jason who did a whopping 270kg bench. Worked out I would have had to do 253kg+ to beat him (note for further comps). Won weight class however and the records are reward enough!

Want to do North Islands in September now and possibly Nationals in Oct (both bench). Weighing up just becoming a bench specialist....not sure eh....I still enjoy deads and squats but they don't compare in terms of what I can do in the bench, hell I'm almost benching what I can deadlift haha...how sad is that. Was also going to lose some weight....but seem's pointless right now to drop weight and lose my advantage in benching....all for the sake of fitness and asthetics (yeah health features in there as well).

So into something new tonight, haven't spoken to Steak yet but I'm sure we'll strategise this evening!

mad bro, do what you will enjoy, not what you think you should. rekon your bench will/would skyrocket.. 8)

Imo bro you should start specialising in bench. Definetley the potential for a 600lb bench in the next year or so and then roll on 300kg buddy.

dont worry about the weight thing bro, you hold it well, especially compared to some of the other 120s you will come up against. At least your chest sticks out further than your gut

Yeah I'll look to maintain the weight but introduce cardio to at least improve on fitness and general well being. Could afford a 4-5kg drop?

I'm sure BB will agree that it's nice to have such a short and sweet comp. We started at 3 and were done by 5ish I think.
