Nah shirts soft....body was strong on the day. Went on easily enough....came off without a hitch, no marks on body. This suggests a tired, training only shirt now. In comparison, the superkat required two big boys to help me put it on and 200 wasn't enough to touch.

I want to bleeeeed in my gear, otherwise it ain't workin!

That was a big total bro!

Doing real good. Excited to see how the progress goes leading into North Islands. Awesome how much a meet makes ya motivated to improve! Something that people who don't compete miss out on

Nice Total Bro,  going from strength to strength, squat looked real strong 272.5 will fall. Bench like you said, a bit under weight makes a big difference in the groove of the shirt, SK will change that, a lot more life in them.

More comps the better you get, 272.5 at the norths.

Thanks gents!

First full session in the gym yesterday. Day 1, week 1 of a Sheiko 37. It had me doing reps of 5 which was hard going! I'm wired for sets of 3, maybe 4 tops so 5 took it out of me.

North Islands only weeks away!

Have missed a few journal entries to thought it time to add a few things in!

After the fanfare of the Auckland Champs, was given a low volume, geared, Sheiko 37 to do. I’m currently in week 2 of it…and low volume….hmmm…..it’s a nice tough programme!

Week 2, Day 1 was a 4hr marathon, both raw and geared squats and bench required, benching around the 130 mark for raw and 190 for gears. Squats were around the 180 mark raw and 200-220 geared. Squats were a challenge…flexibility not the best and the suit is tighter as I’ve put on another kg or 2 since the last comp so depth was a challenge.

Last night had a couple of mates come up for some trial runs on openers and some technique corrections so another 4hr slog. Working sets for deadlifts around 180-190 and some light benching of around 100, including some floor pressing.

Introducing more and more mobility drills and will introduce an assistance day again, including re-introducing some agility 8 stuff, either a day on it’s own or combine with existing days more than likely.

Spotter/loaded next weekend…..gonna be hard resisting the platform but I need to get a decent 9 weeker nailed to lift my numbers close to that 800 total mark…..not going to do a Pit Bull and add a meet day onto a already difficult programme. Maybe at 17 you can get away with that but not 34 haha

Squats felt very strong, was nice having a loose 52 cent for the suited work. 220 for 3 popped up quickly and easily. Shirted bench felt good as well, 190 for 2 and 3 respectivelly popped off my chest, shirt was sitting well despite it's age.

Wendy's for dinner then crashed out.....Tuesday blues today....sore and achy but passes by Wednesday.

Apologies

ok Week 5 skills last night.

Looonnnggg warm up as got there at 4pm thinking I would get started early so I could finish early. Unfortunately no one there so pointless once I start squatting...so lots of stretching, rollering..more stretching.

Squats

60x5

100x3

140x3

180x3

Throw suit on..which I can do with talc only, so it's not comp tight.

200x1 (parallel)

220x1 (parallel)

250x1 (Depth)

270x1 (parallel

270x1 (Depth) - PB!!!

Really enjoying squats. Finding my hips are coming to a standstill on most lifts however and my torso is leaning forwards and knee's travelling, therefore hitting parallel. On that last lift I moved my grip out on the bar by a finger and let the bar sit lower on my back, this allowed me to remain more upright but also meant I had less tightness in my back on the way up...but I still got the lift as I could get down. Any heavier however and I may not. Going to experiment with returning to my original grip but force myself more under the bar to achieve the same thing but without compromising the tightness.

Bench

60x5

100x3

120x3

130x3

Shirt on - Super Katana this time....only ever used it once, have never got a touch in it. Forgotten how tight the bugger and strong it is.

180x2 (3BD)

200x2 (3BD)

220x1 (2BD)

220x1 (2BD)

220x2 (tried for touch...nope...wet seams)

220x3 (another attempt....just stops about an inch or 2 from my chest)

Deadlift

I don't like deadlifting, maybe that evident in how rubbish it is....or on the flipside, a result of being rubbish at it. Either way something needs to change in my deadlift training and/or I invest in a suit.

60x1

100x1

140x1

180x1

220x1

240x1 (this is meant to be 95%.....I maybe have a 250 but was too tired to try plus it was getting close to 10pm and I'd been in the shed for 6 hours lol)

End

Fairly happy with that, a 730 total if that Super Kat had let the bar down. Flew up quickly so fairly sure it's going to be a strong lift eventually. Deadlifts need work but we all have that one lift don’t we.

Pretty tired today.....face doesn't look like I've been run over by a car, and my eyes still have the whites visible so I'm getting better and better each time with the Super Cent.
