NABBA on 1st sept then prob/possibly IFBB the weekend after.

I think they've changed the NABBA/WFF dates to the date of the IFBB comp - kinda sucks!

But one step at a time - lets see if I survive the next few weeks!

Nah,

I just have evening clients at like 7/8pm or have to do an evening cardio then have to wake up at 4 for morning shift or morning clients....

It's okay a few days of the week but its just grown so It's happening basically 4 days a week etc which is toomuch/10.

only a couple of weeks though and I'll be dropping a lot of my shifts and going full time PT as they are hiring new staff for the shifts etc. And over the next two weeks I got someone to cover a couple so its not quite as bad.

So feeling good about it all at the moment :) Just need to get through this week prove I can still do it all.

So

6 Weeks out from show now. Just finished refeed after 12 days of no refeed

Refeed is not a good day. It is a horrible horrible day of torture.

Weighed 63 the day before I entered carb land. This means I've lost 10 kgs since my heaviest weight and I've got 5kgs or so to go till my goal weight... (57ish)

Starting to look more in shape, feel tiny, drowning in all my clothes (sometimes people ask me if I'm wearing Mcmass's work uniform by mistake)

My daily diet consists of a dwindling amount of chicken, heaps of vege's, pretty much zero carbs... and heaps of coke zero, coffee, Green tea, sugar free lollies and gum.

Supplementing with Green tea extract, Iron tabs, HTP-5, Fish oils etc.

Hitting about 1000 cals Doing about 1hour of cardio a day (x trainer or spin bike) and still only doing weights 3 x a week. Weights are still good - I don't think I've really lost any strength, some movements I feel stronger/more contraction and some I feel about the same.

Posings coming along better but I need to practice more and sort out posing for my routine.

Just waiting for some weight to shift off the hardest bits now - Lower back, inner thigh, triceps/arms.

Well with the Refeed going from eating really low carb to eating only carb you get a huge prolonged insulin spike - which is what you're looking for to create the raised metabolism response and to start releasing hormones that may have been down regulated from being reduced calorie/carb.

But your body's response makes you feel really groce. You feel sick but hungry at the same time as your body spikes then starts to come down you crave more sugars but aren't actually hungry. You feel lethargic and blegh. And achey from all the inflammatory response etc.

Its pretty much metabolic abuse - its not some kinda fun cheat day really.

Sometimes I start with cereal but yesterday it was 2 cans of creamed rice and sometimes at the beginning I have some fats like chocolate so that i don't get hyperglycemic really quickly. But I try to stick to really high sugary low fat things like lollies and pancakes with syrup and cereal bars etc but sometimes I might have one thing or one meal that might have protein or fats in now that im up to like 12 hours of refeed (I started on 6 - it increases over time as your body gets more depleted and adapts to the reefed process) I aim to gain 5lbs from the refeed if I don't gain as much as that then its time to up the feed time. The sugar free lollies are about 5g each and only 10 calories which is about 1 third of a normal lolly? Especially the sweet n low mints etc aren't going to really spike insulin that much as its mainly sweetener.... I think some of the energy that is listed isn't fully digestible as well - from malitol. You can only have a few though or it makes you have a bad stomach.

Its pretty hard, I'm not sure what the equivalent of that would be for guys prob about 2000 I guess....

I'm getting used to it though...

Just switched over to mainly white fish and egg whites. making all my meals in advance. more cardio etc.

So pretty much yeah... :roll:

Had a bit of an issue in the last week with my knees getting all swole from cardio (1hr a day) but hopefully they will sort themselves out...... or at least hold up until after comp...

Calves are tight as well rolling every day :/

Any tips are welcome :)

Haha I haven't even thought of that yet. As I've got a few refeeds and cheat meals to go before the show to keep metabolism in check in between my starving periods.

But It would probably just be something like cafe food or fast food etc because things just taste better when you don't have to cook them yourself. So maybe like a fry up with chips on the side or something with cheese as I pretty much never get to have anything with cheese.

Or just a solid few days of eating fast food and junk food, basically just whatever I want when I want for a few days and not having restrictions like on the refeeds where I have to look for high carb low fat stuff. It really gets annoying...

Things still going good....

Just wondering if I should compete in the Teen class in NABBA.

It says you have to be under 20 on the 1st January on the year of the competition which means I'd qualify as I turned 20 on the 18th January this year :pfft:

It probably means there will be like.... none else in my class and it would be combined with novice anyway.... But if there's a class for my age then why not??

What do you guys think....

Well in Teen I'll probably be the only one....

So the class would probably be combined with novice figure anyway but I'd still be judged in my category alone.

I'm not sure which nationals I'll do as Mcmass will be going up for IFBB I imagine and I don't know if i wanna/can afford to go up for two....

It would almost guarantee placing I guess but I might feel like a dick being like yay I won against .... no one else ....

lol

haha! Thanks everyone.

Didn't do the comp in the end. I pulled out about 3 weeks out cos of personal issues and I wasn't liking where my head was at with the dieting and my business (and my body!!) was really suffering. I thought it was more worth it to me to pull out than to carry on just for a plastic trophy.

I ended up doing a photoshoot though and now my business is doing better.

My diets kinda got fucked up since stopping though and I think i'm having allergy issues with some foods etc which is causing me to have some back pain as the inflammation in my stomach is giving me issues with core stabilization, but I think I'm coming right now. And I've been addressing some hormone and general health issues I had and have come off birth control and been seeing a Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner to get me back to health.

At the moment I've just started a Westside program with Mcmass to gain some strength - woo! my back has been playing up but think all that is coming right n I'll be getting some good lifts soon.
