Cliffs - being a fucking woman and having an epi about life !!!

Job at Lesmills to do thier become a PT scheme where you work as a gymmy and a PT.

But they are apparently interested in me trialling this new system where I just get to start work as a PT straight away basically which actually sounds super awesome.

But I have no idea which one or when, basically told me I've got it (or something) but I have to get my REPs insurance back - massive ballache. Just taking time and its not 100% set in stone I guess they could be like sorry you took too long we gave it to someone else...

Just wanna start now I'm SO BORED.

Yeah it gets old really quick surprisingly...

Nah I reckon if I dont get this I'm gonna do something completely different... which is even scarier which is why I want to get this lol... as doing something completely different might require more planning and nothing time...

Nice.

Okay so I drank on Sat for the first time in 2 months, managed to stick to diet sunday monday but I have felt a bit shocking. Really fucked my recovery I think, feel like I haven't had a day off basically. Tired/no energy/strength/concentration.

Worked up to 55min AM cardio each morn. awww yeaaah.

Today decided to try and control my carbs a bit more as I've got a tiny bit slack over time with portions but not too bad.

Then went and ate pizza.

Fail.

Upper body looking sickkk definitely bigger and leaner.

Legs still shit but have grown hammies definitely.

Not losing much off abs/lower back think its the cardio/cortisol of cutting/calorie defecit.

It will happen.

Next 2 weeks or so:

Cain the fatburners/caffeine and do cardio and lift everyday this week.

Eat whatever clean food I want.

Get fucked up all weekend.

Go to china on monday and basically not eat much food for 10ish days not out of coice, just I'm not a fan of the Asian food. Do AM cardio as much as I can in the hotel gym.

Come back. refill on normal foods for a few days then drop carbs do an epic carbless chicken and brocolli cut with like 2 cardios a day for a like a week or so then slowly add the carbs back in.

This plan is destined to fail but I JUST NEED LEAN. RARRR.

Not wanting to mess with the chinese. Pretty sure I'd die if they thought I was bringing something back I shouldn't be. Then theres getting through NZ security... Geeez.

One of the provinces main incomes is exporting traditional chinese herbs. But Tiger bones/skins sound awesome aswell...

Achievement update:

I can touch my toes for the first time in my life that I can remember.

I consider this my lifetimes greatest achievement and can now retire from weightlifting and get chubba.

In other news I did 2 sets of calf raises now I keep getting repeated intense shin/tibia pain.

Can still touch the toes though so...

Haha

I was being serious about the touching toes.

Not serious about giving up weightlifting

Semi srs about getting fat (keep cheating on my diet this week)

srs about the calf raises (maybe it was 3 sets?)

srs about the pain... Its pretty bad. stretching it seems to make it worse?

And when I poke my shin I can't seen to like locate where it hurt/is tight to like massage etc. and rollering it and stuff seems to not do anything. so annoying. Maybe have to ice/heat pad it or something.

Think I'm gonna just rest it see if it gets better. No calf raises ever! Still gotta carry on with general leg training and cardio though. eurgh.

In other news I've been on my plan a month now I'll prob write like a little month review in a few days about what I've done/am gonna change.

When my shins get sore I do:

-3x long calf stretch 20 count

-3x short calf stretch 20 count

-3 min massage for each calf (tennis/golf ball)

-1 min massage for each shin (tennis/golf ball)

-1 min massage for each sole of foot (an empty deodorant can works a treat here)

Twice a day.

Nice work :)

re: job, have they gone through the fine print of how much you have to pay to become a PT there  ? After doing all your PT quals it sounds like a rip.

You don't have to pay to be a PT there, you pay rent!

Which is fair enough because if I didn't want to pay rent I could PT at my house... Which doesn't have a mahoosive gym in it... and would probably attract me way less clients.

The rent is really cheap compared to the UK anyway. about half what you have to pay in the UK, UK is also tarriffed so the number of clients you have equates to more rent. e.g 20 clients a week you pay 600 pounds 30 clients a week at a LA fitness you have to pay something like 800 pounds rent a month which is about 1400 dollars or something.

You have to pay like a lisence fee but thats either the money you get doing cheapo PT sessions in your like trial PT time while your doing your courses, and after that just extra rent per week like 15 dollars or someting untill youve paid the amount then your rent goes down. and I think this new system I might be trialling they are getting rid of that anyway.

They put me through some courses and stuff aswell which the liscence fee is supposed to cover, which is pretty cool because then even if I end up leaving after like a few months I can still say I've done these Les Mills courses and Les Mills being as famous as it is worldwide is pretty impressive, and just working there in general isn't really gonna look bad on any CV.

Also I didn't pay a penny for my Level 2/3 personal trainer qualifications and Its not like actually paying anything of my own money, I'm getting paid to do this whichever route I go down... Basically there would be no way I could get as many clients/this kind of support/client base to work with/equipement to use if I didnt work at les mills so working there is hardly "expensive" to me.

I dont really have any expendeture at the moment so its all no pressure but it would be nice to be successful and making a fair amount to save for whatever it is I decide to do at some point.

Hopefully it all turns out okay !

Good luck :D!

Hopefully the new system works out better.

Yeah I meant pay for the courses - worked out to about $2000 if I recall correctly - and yeah I know they help you out by using the client money from being a PTA.

You definitely seem in the right place for doing it anyway! I ended up turning their offer down because it just didn't seem stable enough.

Let us know when you hear from them :)

Interdasting...

I havent read all the posts but you are from Welly aye?

How big is LM welly members wise? and how many PTs?

Will you be going from gym instructor to PT or go straight into PT?

Just interested because im in auckland and will probably be changing gyms to work @ LM City with rent @ 180/week but has 65 other PTs 8)

Yeah I'm pretty lucky in that I have the support to be able to work whatever small amount of hours/whatever number of clients/for whatever money for as long as I like. You need time to build a client base up and go at a slow pace to work it all out.

The new system seems much better where you dont even work as gymmy at first you just get 35 dollars an hour for each PT session and you get paid that money. They are apparently changing to this nationally in July.

But you can come in whenever you like in your gymmy uniform and take other peoples appointments and try and get leads etc. hang round/chat to peole etc.

I'd rather do that way tbh. Ive been a gymmy, dont wanna be one again... but if I have to I have to. They havent let me know yet either which one I'm doing. Or formally offered me anything yet. But we will see.

Im at extreme. Not sure about members numbers but its pretty big and gets pretty busy well it is at this time of year now. It seems like there are a lot of richer people aswell from like the way people dress/training clothes always up to date. I dont know if this is true for all the les mills but a lot of people seem to be training like they've had some sort of PT involvement etc.

I will either be going from gymy to PT or straight to like trainee PT I dont know yet. Its because I havent worked as a PT before I believe.

I'm not sure how many PTs this has. I see a fair few around. But I also see a lot of the same ones so obviously theres like 4/5 who are popular and work a lot and maybe 6/7 others who I see now and then. but that could just be to do with my training times aswell.

Did some pics and comparisons of my last month of training/cutting. Went pretty well I guess. Can see the improvements a lot. But not quite as much as I would have wanted. Though I have still gained mass and lost body fat. You can see this in my progress pics as I've stayed the same weight but am clearly leaner. Got cardio up to a dece level.

Realised I ended up training legs like 8 x and upper body (chest/back/shoulders) like over 10 x so my goal for next time is to make sure I train legs the same amount if not more than upper body as they are lagging compared to upper body.

I also want to be more consistent on my refeeds, so every other feed be just a clean carb up and then the ones between can be like a cheat meal of anything. so 2 x a week or so, every couple of days.

had a massive cheat/blowout weekend of drinks and food. Then did deadlift day today and absolutely smashed it. Going to China tonight for 2 weeks probbaly only be able to do cardio and lift shoulders maybe and diet will be all over the place. But we will see where I'm at when we get back. plan is to cut for another month and in that time plan my clean bulk for after that. Atm thinking high carb low fat med pro, push pull legs for my training and AM cardio on days in between. But not sure yet.
