or these for general use http://www.amazon.com/Plantronics-BackBeat-903-Headset/dp/B00428N9OK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1324584105&sr=8-1

Yeh the ones I like are a bit girly! Didn't think of that :pfft:

Imagine headphones with no wires, I keep strangling/decapitating myself with the stoopid wires all the time

I ended up getting a pair of these, Creative WP-300:

I got them at the Harvey Norman boxing day sales (where headphones were 20% off). Think it ended up being $130 including extended 3-year warranty? Was an extra $20 for the extra two years so I thought why not  After the first year of warranty, if there are any faults they just exchange with an equivalent or better pair, which I thought was a good deal. And after the sale price it was still about $20 cheaper than retail so I'm happy with that!

First impressions are sound range is pretty damned good for the price. I've built up a bit of a collection of headphones and this is a really well-balanced pair. Fairly comfortable, although it can take a bit of mucking around to get them to sit just right on your ears, but fit my lobes just right. Haven't had them fall off after 2 squat sessions yet. Battery life seems good too (quoted between 12-20 hours I think, haven't used it for anywhere near that amount of time before recharging yet though).

Buttons on the right earpiece are easy to find and handy, skip tracks, volume, play/pause and power. Paired with my iPhone no sweat (once I figured how to make the headphones discoverable :shifty:). Every time I turn the headphones on it automatically makes the connection and turns the music on. Could get annoying but it is kinda cool that it searches it out straight away.

Have also found the range is really good. I can leave my phone in my bag at the gym, and walk around to do my exercises without it cutting out. It is a fairly open gym though, without a lot of obstructions between the stations and my bag.

Only a couple of minor issues; there are no instructions or anything that come with it, had to google how to put the headphones into discovery mode so they could be paired with the iPhone. Also, they use a proprietary connection to charge (weird elongated type of mini-usb connection), not simply a standard mini-usb (which I have tonnes of!) so that is a little annoying.

All in all, very impressed. When not on sale, I think they go for $150, so the price isn't terrible either.

Oh shit crack up, nice signature Drizzt. :pfft:

 Motivating!

they look a bit chucky...any good while doing cardio stuff?

(edit not sure if you were talking to IDW or myself :shifty: but...)

Can't say I've done any cardio in them (or without them for a while either :pfft:) short of long walks of course, but they were ok for the few box jumps I did today with them on, however may not have lasted a set of 10.

Not chunky really, quite small, but I can imagine if you were doing anything too vigorous with them on they could maybe dislodge. They feel pretty secure on though.

Hey drizzt. Are these still working for you? I am looking at getting these also - they are on special at the moment on the Creative website for $90 AUD incl free postage and bluetooth transmitter. Might get the ones with a mike though, then can also go handsfree in the car. Cheers

Oh wow, there was one with a Mic? That would've been handy!

But yep, still going strong, love the sound out of them, use them every day and $90AUD is a sharp price.

Only thing I've found is they aren't quite as stable on the head as I once thought (if you move a lot during an exercise, they can dislodge if they're not sitting "snug" on your head, which can take a bit of adjusting), but I Declare War has suggested wearing a cap over top helps when you're working out. That's the only complaint I have for them, and it's only a small annoyance. I've found bluetooth range on them is very good too.
