Good lifting Tom regardless! I know how that feels, had a comp a year or so back with a similar issue so I know what you went through!

Lucky it wasn't as bad as some recently.....poor old Simon at the Worlds for example :(

Here's my plan and goals for the rest of the year 2012:

20-22 July Waikato Winter Strokeplay Championships at Lochiel Golf Club

Handicap index is currently sitting at 1.8 but may have to get it below the 1.0 mark just to make sure I make the field for this tournament.

Goal: <10 over par OR Top 30 finish

27-29 July or 3-5 Aug BOP Open at Whakatane Golf Club

This course can be tougher than Lochiel so I'll have to play better to shoot the same score.

Goal: <10 over par OR Top 20 finish

10-12 Aug Cambridge Classic at Cambridge Golf Club

Quite an easy course so scores will be very low here. Winner will probably be at least 10 under par.

Goal: <5 over par OR Top 15 finish

17-19 Aug Mens' North Harbour Strokeplay at Muriwai Golf Links

Very tricky course, especially if the weather turns foul so winner is usually only a few under par.

Goal: <5 over par OR Top 10 finish

25-26 Aug Inter-district Quadrangular at St Andrews

Hopefully I play well enough to warrant selection for the BOP Team and I can participate in this quadrangular.

Goal: Win all 3 matches.

1-2 September Waikato Strokeplay at St Andrews

By this time, my game should be humming with all the practise and I want to start playing some really good golf.

Goal:

22 September WBOP Classic at Te Awamutu

This will just be a test to see where my lifting is at. Previous best raw total is 460kgs in March

Goal: 180kg squat, 100kg bench, 210kg deadlift and a 480kg plus total RAW

27-30 September Charles Tour Carrus Tauranga Open at Tauranga Golf Club

This is an important tournament as this is a pro-am meaning half the field will be made up of professionals.

Goal: <5under par OR Top 10 finish

3 November Raw Powerlifting Nationals at Tauranga

Goals: 200kg squat, 110kg bench, 220kg deadlift and a 500kg plus total in the U74s.

17-18 November Omanu Classic at Omanu Golf Club

Goals: <5 under par OR Top 3 finish

27 November - 1 December NZ Men's Interprovincial Championships at Balmacewan

I would really like to make this team this year, they pick 5 players and 1 reserve.

Goals: Help the BOP team to win and win at least 5 out of 7 matches.

Squat

20kg x8

40kg x7

60kg x5, 5 sets

Good mornings

40kg x5, 5 sets

Front squats

40kg x5, 5 sets

Did legs for first time in yonks. A tendon in my lower back was a bit sore though. Went really light and simple using 5x5. Pretty easy.

Thinking of doing legs once a week and increasing weight by 10kgs a week on squats and 5kgs a week on GMs and front squats

Good workout, always seem to have more strength and stamina when I train at a gym compared to at home. Trying to show off I guess :)

I have been training, haven't been logging though so I've forgotten what I've done. Basically been going lighter though and at least 10 reps on all exercises.

I played the Waikato Winter Strokeplay on the weekend so I was in Hamilton from Thursday. Thursday night I did a light chest workout at Kudos Gym where I did 60kg bench 4 sets of 12 and accessories.

Shot 81 on Friday and 83 on Saturday and missed the cut by 12. I think I would've been coming near the bottom of the field. I had the friggin snap hooks off the tee which was just a massive pain in the arse. My brother came 8th and I caddied for him on Sunday afternoon.

On Sunday morning, I trained at Les Mills and it's bloody $22 for a casual train. I did some back/bis with shoulders/tris. There were two other skinny Asian phaggots there doing curls and chest, I wanted to punch them in the face. Phaggots!

Pullups

BW x10, 4, 4, 4,

Overhead press (barbell)

30kg x15, 12, 10, 8

DB row

25kg x12, 3 sets

Arnold press

15kg x12, 10, 10

Incline curls

10kg x12, 3 sets

Skullcrushers

17.5kg x15, 12, 12

Hammer curls

8kg x12, 3 sets

Tri pushdown (cable)

30lbs or kgs x15, 13, 12

45* back extensions

BW x20, 2 sets

Was a good workout, got a mad pump and today my biceps and triceps are sore as f*ck.

I never get sore biceps so I'm really happy about that. I think it was using the lighter weight and going slow on the negatives and holding it at the top.

its probably because their bars are less than 20kg (srs)

Yeah, it always seems a bit lighter at the gym. Next time I go to a gym, I'm gonna chuck them on the scales.

Legs tonight

Front squat

20kg x12

50kg x8

70kg x6

90kg x9

80kg x14 (FFFUUUUUUUU......)

Good mornings

50kg x15, 3 sets

Power cleans

17kgs x10, 2 sets

Lying leg raises x50

Russian twists x20, 30

Stretching 10 minutes

Damnation, I was going for 90kgs x20 to take first place in phaggy BB.com front squat challenge in 165lb class. Right now I'm coming 5th with 154lbs(70kgs). Current leader is 185lbs (84kgs). I was struggling after 6 so I racked it.

Decided to go for 80kgs next after a 5 minute rest. It started getting hard after 8 reps but I was determined to get 20 reps. But it wasn't to be, after 12 my chest started to cave and the bar was slipping off my shoulders. On the ascent of the 15th rep, the bar fell through my fingers and down onto the safeties.

Deadline is this Sunday american time so gonna go for 75kgs x20 to get dat dere 2nd place. Cos 2nd place is currently 73.5kgs :x

I gotta say though, pump is insane with front squats

Played shiiiiiiitt, missed the cut, came nearly last. Had the hookie mais

27-29 July or 3-5 Aug BOP Open at Whakatane Golf Club

This course can be tougher than Lochiel so I'll have to play better to shoot the same score.

Goal: <10 over par OR Top 20 finish

Played allright in the first round, shot 73. Was 3 over through 13 in second but dropped 7 shots in the last 5 holes to shoot 80 and miss the cut by 2 shots. Came about 60th

10-12 Aug Cambridge Classic at Cambridge Golf Club

Quite an easy course so scores will be very low here. Winner will probably be at least 10 under par.

Goal: <5 over par OR Top 15 finish

Played really good here, shot two 70s. Par was 72. Sunday was cancelled because of heavy rain so tournament was cut to 36 holes. Came 5th out of 87 and won the nett playing off a 2 handicap. Got a $400 Westfield voucher.

Haven't been lifting at all. Quads are turning into sticks. Don't even care
