Recommended Posts

What are your guys thoughts on 2x a day lifting? eg. Legs AM, Chest PM etc?

Can you do this and get good results as a natty?? Or will catabolism kick in and ejaculate all over my muscles?

Currently doing keto keto keto (wondering if i up my protein will it help speed up recovery?) , and am supplementing with creatine and whey protein OR..... should i forget about it and leave it to the juice heads (no offence), i realise being on keto should affect my energy but to be honest it hasnt so far but ... im naturally adhd :)

Try it out bro. Only you will be able to judge how you are recovering. Some people can get away with it, some cant. As long as you arent training every day like that and getting your rest days in it shouldnt be a problem. It all comes down to your genetics, diet and rest

Ive started lifting 2 times per day, but training the same muscle group both sessions on the same day. Doing 4 day split with no rest days. Somewhat surprisingly to me, it seems to be going pretty well so far

Can you give me an example of your typical chest day

Some of the great bodybuilders have used this high volume approach to their training. I think for most people the intensity of their workouts probably decreases, but with the added frequency you should still see gains. Might worth a try for a few months, even just to shock your body for a while.

nah havent used them. still undecided as to whether i will. theres no way i could do all that in one session though. i do weigh 95kg so its probably not all that impressive

Is it that easy to get gear in nz i thought it was virtually impossible , especially in the south island?

What is the point of training the same muscle group twice a day?

Enlighten me...

I'm not saying it's stupid...just wondering why you would do it.

by the end of my first session im fucked as. for example reps for benching 100kg for me goes doewn from 8-10 to about 3-5. After taking a rest for a few hours, my reps are back up to almost what they were at the start of the first session. guess it just lets me do more 'volume' without significant impact on rest time. I only did it for less than 2 weeks but it went great. (Have now taken a few days off moving from nz to queensland). Now, due to work commitments I will be only doing 1 session/day 6 days/week, but if i had time id keep doing 2x/day

Ive played around with twice andays and if you build into them slowly they shouldnt affect your pm sesh all that much. I would do it two ways either do something completey different to what your pm sesh is or pick an exercise you suck at for some moderate volume and intensity. If legs are an issue you could do 3xpw light tempo squats in the morning, and 3xpw heavy squats on alternate days.

Just to add to what's already been said...

Two sessions a day is absolutely fine. You just need to monitor your recovery between sessions, your pre-post nutrition, and most importantly; your volume/intensity of training.

As you know, it's a constant balancing act, particularly as training and recovery response is so highly individual.
