Hey all,

Brand new member just introducing myself. I'm a 19yo student living in Palmerston North currently doing block course as a sparky. Hoping to join the Navy next year. I've been in and out of gyms since I was 17 so I do have some knowledge of basic training principles. Unfortunately for myself this year I have put on the 'student weight' from binge drinking/eating terrible but enough is enough time to get in shape!

Current Stats:

Height=168-170cm

Weight=79KG

BF%= Approx 18-20 IMO

Last Year Stats:

Height=168-170cm

Weight=72KG

BF%=15%

My goals are to drop my weight from 79kg to around about 68-70kg (drop the BF% to around 10-12%). My goals for weights - Learn to Squat like a boss, and bench press 100kg. I'd also really like to learn a lot more about nutrition because i know it's the biggest factor.

Thanks for reading my little intro!

Cheers

Mike

Sweet mate, get fit, smash the MSFT the best you can and impress them with the best result possible. It's pretty competitive these days for limited places in the forces more so the navy since its in auckland. so they have the luxury of choosing who goes into the intakes rather than taking whoever the can like the old days. you wanna be fitter than everyone else so it makes you look better giving you have the best chance of getting in.

so i would leave the squatting like a boss and 100kg bench presses till your in there bro.

good luck with goals.

Hey all,

Thanks for the feedback. Sorry I forgot to mention that I had done all the tests already and am in the final stages I find out late this month. Yeah I have seen a lot of people get turned a way from the forces too!! Haha love that photo beast cracked me up!

My results for the Navy fitness testing was (this was at the very start of the year so still fit from High School)

13 in the beep test

50 push ups

I had done similar forces fitness testing throughout 7th form at high school for random class trips away. Police and Army were the hardest as we actually went to Linton and Wellington so had instructors giving us hell. So doing the Navy fitness test was a lot easier.

I made a workout plan pretty basic/noob, now for a nutrition plan! Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Cya!
