Pinning while sick?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, just on my 5th week and ended up catching the cold... f*ck.

Was wondering if most of you continue to pin and also train or just rest up and continue to pin when you come right?

Thanks.

I'd probably continue to pin, but it would depend on how sick I was. It doesn't really matter too much, either way. The main thing is that you rest up and get well as soon as possible so that you can continue lifting hard. If I was really sick I'd consider skipping a shot or two - there are studies showing that testosterone levels drop when you are sick... I'm not sure, but I'd presume that lower testosterone levels (than you're cycling) are conducive to a better immune response and hence may help you recover more quickly. (Have you heard of Test flu? Pretty good indicator, that, that high levels of test are suppressive of the immune response).

I suggest that you lay off weight training when sick, to allow your body to focus all its energy on the immune system rather than on muscle repair. Sometimes taking a session or two off to recuperate can be very beneficial... but often it is harder said than done. I find it hard to break my routines. If you do continue training while sick, make sure you keep your sessions short and light so that you don't prolong your cold.

IDW: Is the condition you mention attributed to high Test levels or a change in the Test:Estrogen ratio..?

I used to get the occasional cold towards the end of a long cycle, and suspected it was due to other hormones playing catch up, rather than just high Test...?

Your thoughts pls..

It could be, but I'm definitely not sure.

The cause of test flu could be a number of other things; possibly a virus, an allergic reaction to one of the preservatives or it could be another foreign particle that, once injected, simply causes the body to view it as an "invading intruder" so to speak, so it begins the normal immune reaction to an infection.

Really, it's just a hunch... if high testosterone levels were so good for us then our natural testosterone levels would likely be higher than they have evolved to be. There's bound to be some kind of relationship there. I notice that when I'm on a big cycle with high doses I can't sit still, and that sure as hell doesn't create a good environment to recover from a cold or flu.
