testosterone supplements and strokes

Quack has given me test supplements.. All legal and had to do some fast talking to get them though.. Im 50 years old. Gotten fat and lazy over the last couple of years. Decided to get back in to training. Went in to have a check up, asked that test levels be checked too. came back in at 13 which is although on the low side, ok for my age..

anyway to cut a long story short, I managed to talk the doc in to giving me some low level test supplements..

Will check level tomorrow and post it.. Doc warned me of the risk of stroke taking test supplements at my age.

I cant see how in such low doses it would be a problem.

Can anyone elaborate if the doc is right or wrong on the stroke risks?

Any info really appreciated.

cheers everyone.

There's plenty on here mate older than you, that have been taking amounts that would make your doctors eyes water....

Doctors tend to be a bit behind the times regarding testosterone supplementation...

There are health benefits of sensible levels of testosterone supplementation, Its only when levels are abused that problems seem to occur...

cheers for your thoughts, it's exactly as I thought, quacks being overly cautious..

Test is in pill form. At the moment he has only given me a minimal amount as to be on the cautious side. I intend on talking him in to bumping that up somewhat..

sorry, will follow up with a reply to your other questions tonight.. Have to grab the script which is out in the car at the moment...

thanks for your comments, much appreciated.

Are you taking Andriol?

PANTESTONE 40mg, 1 daily is what's prescribed.. havent started them yet, but will do soon..

Made by Organon too... How much do you pay for your course of treatment if you don't mind.....

This is what Wikipedia says about it:

Andriol is a version of the anabolic steroid testosterone undecanoate developed by the pharmaceutical company Organon. This testosterone preparation is encapsulated and sealed in an oil base in a 40 mg capsule taken orally. According to Organon, this method bypasses the liver, preventing it from being damaged by the liver and from adding damaging stresses to the liver found in other testosterone preparations. It is said to enter the body as a fat through the lymphatic system. Experience from users indicates that in doses of less than 240 mg per day, effects are negligible, except at the very onset of use, while even in higher doses, effects are still minimal. It is therefore thought that most of the steroid is somehow not making it into the blood stream....

Doesn't seem too effective....

Looks like someones going to need injections..... :pfft:

no cost... under public health care..

damn, seems like they're crap.

I might get my test levels checked as I take them and as I up my doses and keep you guys informed.. It'll be interesting..

So if you're old enough with low natural testosterone, treatment is free..?

yes of course, apart from the doctors' visit.. Most prescribed medication in NZ is subsidised and very low cost or free.

a lot depends on your quack.. He may also require you a visit to a specialist or an endocrinologist to get a second opinion which will also be a one off cost but could cost you $150.00 to $350.00

There are various types of treatment available too.. I know another option is testosterone patches, but there does seem to be an issue with a lot of people being allergic to the glue they use to hold the patches on.

There is also an anti ageing clinic here on the Shore that has a legal way of selling test to the public. Prices weren't too bad. They got around the law by making the test out of plants so it was a totally natural product.

I dont like the way it works though, as you have to disolve it in your mouth, so that it get's absorbed in to the body. Works ok as long as you dont do any exercise while using it..

Exercise while using it and you some how breath it in to your lungs. Gave me a cough for months after. But it does work well.. My test levels were up over 90. Had a test done by an endocrinologist who was horrified at the high levels of test in my system.. lol

If any one is interested I'll see if I can find the name of the company for you..

I used Androderm patches for a month, the skin irritation & red circles it left on the skin made it impractical. Apart from that I did notice positive benefits, however after having had Andriol caps, testosterone cream & now injectables in that order I have found the latter to be the best treatment for benefits & application.

I have no doubt you are right..

Im a really fussy bugger.. I have been offered injectable test but I am just not brave enough to use underground stuff..

All it takes is one bad batch..

Seen what the Chinese did to the kids with the crap they added to the milk powder?

Yes I know, many of you do trust the underground stuff and do use it with out any problems, but again, it's just me.. If I knew it was made by a company that makes legit pharmaceuticals then I guess I would be keener...

Also the need for some thing to come off the higher amounts of test is something Im not keen on..

But then Im not trying to get huge.. Im more worried about losing fat.. My previous experience with test and other substances was it does help hugely to lose fat..

I have used Decca from a veterinarian before, but that was mean on the hair line.. But even if not made in the most sterile eviroment, at least I knew it was legitamally made even if only for horses so I trusted it.. The results were amazing.. But not prepared to go there again at the risk of my hairline..

I was always told decca durabolin was one of the safer ones for hairline.

Wrong. It's bad.

Anyway, just sharing my thoughts with you on injectibles...

My GP referred me to an endo who initially prescribed the test caps that you are on. T levels were not elevated enough so he gave me Sustanon 250 - in 1ml amps - which I pinned every two weeks. They left me feeling flat & tired the second week, so now I'm on Depo-Testosterone (test. cypionate) @ 100mg a week - he keeps a close eye on my bloods  - with 25mg Proviron every day. Seems to be working well :)

Deca doesn't convert to DHT so can't induce MPB. I doubt it was the deca.

as i said, people like you believe decca is safe when it comes to hair loss..

It isnt.. I had a big head full of hair when i started, when I finsihed I had quite a receding hair line. To prove the point even more over the last few years my hair line hasnt receded anymore..

It only happend when on Decca.. End of story.

  • 3 weeks later...

Ended up with testosterone Arrow and was all ready to start my course but decided to do a little reading up on it first..

"Contraindications

Known or suspected prostatic or mammary carcinoma"

Now I'm thinking if that is the case, I would be far better of injecting myself with the underground stuff..

Or seeing if the doc can give me some of what you got farrout..

Why would any of you guys take something like testosterone arrow if it has those sorts of Contraindications... Enough to put me off.. :-(

Sorry had to laugh! Do you expect your local drug dealer...oops I mean steroid supplier.... will tell you all the contraindictions of each compound? :pfft: :pfft:

No really... :pfft:

Test is test, whether its UG Lab, human pharmaceutical, vetrinarian product or mixed in a bucket next to the meth.... The side effects are the same, only the quality / concs will vary.

Lol!!!!!!!!! You do realize a contraindication isn't the same as a side effect? A contraindication means don't give this medicine to people with ___________. In this case 'prostatic or mammary carcinoma' As they are hormone sensitive cancers and will grow in the presence of excess androgen/estrogen.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Contraindication

now that does make sense... Guess it means go get the prostate checked before starting on the course... cheers mate.
