Good Work mate and good to have a chat with you at the NABBA Nationals.

Always good to see a tall guy doing full ROM Squats as they arent easy at your height!

Nice to see not much has changed at YMCA Mt Albert too, I spent many seessions busting my ass in that squat rack! All the best for your next comp mate!

3rd in Open Athletic Tall, Paul Montfort won and deservedly so as he comes in in great shape everytime, good bloke too. I was prettly flat in the morning and got a little more vascular at the night show. Will load a few more carbs next show!

I still need 2-3 kg's on stage to be competitive against the top guys in Athletic so my aim is to keep grinding away till I get there.

Thing is, you make improvements but so does everyone else! one of the great beauties of the sport is that you cant slacken off as there is always someone else who wants to improve with a passion and is prepared to put up with the pain and sacrifice to get there!

Cheers mate, definately next year providing I can make the improvements I want to make. For me to be competitive against the top guys in this class I need to 2-3kg of LMM on my frame as the guys that are winning the shows are coming in just uner the weight limit and shredded!

The thing is, everyone is training their arses off and making improvements too! So my aim is to continue to improve through sound eating, rest and training over the summer and next year, unlike my traditional beers and bbq summer!

As long as I can make improvements and keep and happy balanced life with my wife and kids, then I am happy.

May do Nth Harbour next weekend, Jason Bartley (2x NABBA Athletic Champ)is doing this one as a warm up for the Asia Pacific, so I am picking he will be the guy to beat. Got a chance to meet him at the Nationals, great, humble guy who obviously trains and diets his arse off as he just keeps improving each comp.

PS will definately come down for a workout at Mt Albert once I get some energy back!

i think seeing as the longer you train, the harder the body fights you i wonder how much of a difference it would make if you had everything bang on from the start.... i know my natural gains really really slowed down after 3 years

yeah i got looked after by a couple of biggest guys in my gym when i started, based my training on theirs essentially.. so its only fair that i do the same. its just kinda passing down the knowledge.
