Calf to arm measurment

Recommended Posts

There are lots of 20 inch arms around, but a jacked 20 inch arm is a rare sight :D

A 20 inch muscular arm is a sight to behold, and requires a good deal of bodyweight to carry.

Neck, Arms and Calves should be the same, and your chest should be 10 inches bigger than your waist.

Forearms should be 3 inches smaller than your upper-arm.

I got 16.2 calves, 17.6 upperarms, 14.4 forearms, 34.5 waist and 49.2 chest :D

16.5" calves.. 15.5" arms............... :(

I think I'm an inch less on both than you so 15.5" calves and 14.5" arms. But I probably had a little more fat than I do now when I last measured so I'm not sure haha, but my calves are a little a head as well.

Lol! Getting owned by a teenager. Yours would look better, buddy. Shorter than I am. Finally seeing progress on my arms however... Keep going hard man, we gotta give the crowd a good show when we compete lol!

With how shredded I've seen you, you're far from being owned by me. f*ck the calves and arms, I'm gonna have to work on my hammies and lats if I want to even stand near you haha.

For me it's less about the arm and calf being the same size, but how they relate to neighboring muscle groups, e.g. shoulders/forearms and quads.

My arms are 19.75, calves are 18.25, but I believe my calves are too small compared to my quads which are 30 and my forearms are only 14.5, which is way too small for my arms. So I'm not worried too much that my arms and calves aren't the same size, but bringing up their neighboring muscle groups to ensure a better match in size.

Thanks. I get a lot of looks/remarks from people about my arms and legs, but to me I'm not complete; it's that lack of symmetry between neighboring muscle groups. I guess on the street or in the gym people don't care. If you look at my calves in isolation, they look fine, but when you see them compared to my quads it doesn't look too good. It annoys the hell out of me.

yeah i guess you would need pretty huge calfs to compensate for 30inch quads! fuarrk.

nothing looks more impressive than a fully developed set of calfs imo

You're right and I'm working on it! I used to train calves once a week, but now I've moved to a 3 on 1 off routine with calves in there on the first and last days so they are growing quite well with all that training (5 sets each session).

I do believe however, calves and forearms are based more on genetics that other muscle groups, so I guess I missed out in these areas

I dont mean to come across as a dick, but are you measuring your forearm at the highest point like in the Lee Priest photos with the tape measure around his forearm? It was taken by Rob Kennedy from muscle mag in 2006 and shows his 17.8 inch forearm but I cant find it.

Thanks for this, I just found out what the problem is.....now I look like a dick! :clubbed:

The tape I used was wrong. Most of the measurements I used were from a PT that measured me at the gym, I measured my forearm at home because I forgot what the measurement was. So I've moved to a more trustworthy tape and re-measured:

Arms 19.75, Forearms 15.75, Calves 18.25, Quads 29.75. All measured cold.

I might use the incorrect tape to provide me some motivation :D

THATS MORE LIKE IT!!!!! I knew you'd be closing in on 16 inches with your forearms :D

I cut the first inch off my tape measure for motivation so my arms read 18.6 :pfft:
