Thanks for the kind words guys, coming from you two especially :)

It wasn't quite my first comp, I did Canterburys and South Islands earlier in the year but this was the first one I had a real serious lead up to and it was a target to train towards rather than just something I wanted to try out !

Now I know I definitely am hooked on Powerlifting and am going to give it my all, short term goals next year definitely seem achievable (300kg Dead, 650kg total etc) and long term goals although they sound rather big in my head I believe that in the next few years if I work my ass off and keep dedicated I will achieve them, no hints on those yet though, they will be my little secret :lol:

I'm sure I'll be seeing you boys next year as I will definitely be keen to give the Classic Cup and stuff a shot, going to be sticking with the Raw lifting I think, I just love it ! :nod:

Bench

Bench Press: Played around with a few sets, finished with 100x15

Incline DB Press: 30x12, 35x10, 40x8, 47.5x10

Incline H.S. Press: 120x12, 130x10, 140x8, 150x8

Rope Pressdowns: 4 sets of 25, 42kg

Rope Extensions: 4 sets of 25, 30kg/36kg

Another mucking around session just getting back into it, PR on reps of 100kg though, haven't repped out with that in awhile so easy 15, had a few more in the tank but remembered it was supposed to be a light week :doh: PR on Incline DBs too, hopefully be smashing those 60s soon ! All good full reps, big stretch at the bottom so no form nazis please :pfft:

High rep Triceps were painful after having a bout a month and a half off doing them, it was only 200 reps and they were so pumped they hurt ! Awesome workout, loved it, can't wait to hit 5/3/1 again next week, bring on the in comp 150kg Bench next year !!

Lats and Bis

Wide Grip Pulldowns: 170x10, 180x10, 190x8, 200x8, 210x6, 220x6, 200x8, 200x8, 180x10, 180x10

T-Bar Row: 50x12, 60x10, 70x8, 80x6

Close Grip Underhand Pulldowns: 160x12, 180x10, 190x8, 200x6

Straight Arm Pulldowns: 130x20, 140x15, 150x12, 160x10

Preacher Curls: 30x12, 40x8, 40x6/30x6/20x11

Cocky's Superset: 10kg, 12.5kg, 12.5kg

Decent session today, felt a bit off this morning due to a few too many last night but you know how it is, training can't suffer so still a good train ! Can't wait to get back into 5/3/1 next week, even though I don't do it for Back it's still the whole package that I love !! Read a thing from Dorian Yates about doing Close Grip stuff was the best back builder he ever did, didn't do any wide grip stuff apparently so thought I'd chuck some in and see how it went, felt it pretty good but I'm still a sucker for Wide Grip :pfft: Cocky's Superset is a set done with 20 reps of alternating DB curls, 10 reps of both at the same time and then another 20 alternating, all in one go so a shit load of curls and insane pump, but good fun to get a pump going and hopefully get a bit of growth in there, new stretchmarks and 18 inches here I come ! :lol:

Shoulders

Military Press: 60x10, 65x10, 70x8, 75x8, 80x6, 80x9 :shock: , 70x8, 70x8, 60x15, 60x13

Seated Side Raises: 12.5x10, 17.5x10, 20x8, 25x8, 27.5x6, 32.5x6, 25x8, 25x8, 20x15, 20x15

Seated Rear Raises: 15x25, 17.5x20, 20x15, 22.5x15, 22.5x15

Smoked the shoulders today ! Military Press felt good, dunno what happened on that second set, the first set felt heavy so I didn't go up to 85, but then i got 6 and had a few more left so why not :pfft: Side Raises as always felt good, gotta get wider and squarer, maybe i should add some trap work in just like 5 sets of something so they grow a bit more. But yea overall good session today pleased with PBs and got a good pump going, it was really hot though so might as well have counted as a conditioning workout the way I was sweating :lol:

Back into 5/3/1 on Monday, Squat time !!

Haha, yes the Pulldowns are most definitely in pounds I'd say, I just read the numbers on the machine, doesn't make much difference as I use the same machine everytime so numbers don't really mean much just so I know where I havta beat next time :) My best Pull Up was just over 160kg (BW+3 20kg plates) so no not repping 200 :pfft:

Back into trusty 5/3/1 !

Cycle 1 Week 1 Day 1

Squats

Squat: 152.5x15 (Just a belt) :shock:

GHR: Bwx12, +5kgx12, +10kgx12, +15kgx12

Leg Extensions: 100 reps

Leg Curls: 100 reps

So ah yea back into the high reps, definitely a bit of a shock to the body ! Also just training in belt and sleeves now seeing as that's all that is allowed in these raw comps :doh:

NoseBleed + Chunder = Good Session :shifty:

After just doing squats i had a date with outside behind the trailer, body is definitely not used to high reps, should be right by next week though, nose bleed halfway through the set too so that looked badass, not complaining :pfft: Took it pretty easy the rest of the session, wasn't feeling fantastic so yea, definitely up the workload next week and get back to the old tolerance and beat it !!

In for Lats and Bis tomorrow, watch this space !

Probably the breathing (or lack thereof) causing your blood pressure to shoot up. If you concentrate on breathing each rep you should be okay. Good squatting tho!

Hell yea bro ! Breathing takes second place to squatting no questions asked ! Loving it too much, especially with falling out of bed this morning thinking I'd be able to walk, oh how wrong I was :pfft:

Single Arm Cable Concentration Curls: 24x15ea, 30x10ea, 30x12ea/Cocky's Superset with 10kg DBS

So yea didn't have time to fit everything in this morning, so had a train at work (the beauty of working at a gym :pfft: ) just before I finished to fit in my Bis and some Trap work I wanted to chuck in. Am going to put Trap work on Back day and Shoulder day as I find this is lacking, they are big and strong in the lower portions from Deadlifts and the like but I have never done much Upper Trap work so am going to do things like Wide Upright Rows and Shrugs etc, hopefully it works out well ! Anyway Back is going to be sore tomorrow after another few PBs on exercises today and felt good, I've taken to stretching my Lats randomly during the session and I feel this helps tremendously with feeling them work and getting blood into the muscle, just more rambling from me :lol:

Bis are not getting any stronger but are still rather large, well I think they are anyway, seems a bit strange to me, used to be Preacher Curling a lot more than I am now but somehow my arms are a lot bigger now than they were then, go figure :shifty:

Anyway enough ranting from me, time for pre-bed meal I think and then hit the sack, Bench tomorrow so that will be fun, Rep it out !!

Bench

Bench Press: 107.5x15

Decline Bench: 100x12, 110x10, 115x8, 120x8

Incline DB Press: 32.5x12, 37.5x10, 42.5x8, 45x7

Cable Flys: 18x20, 24x20, 30x15, 30x15

G Press: 15x15, 17.5x12, 20x10, 25x9

Rope Pressdowns: 48x15, 54x12, 60x10, 66x8

Good start back into Bench today, feeling stronger already, ready to smash 150 in comp next year, hopefully get close enough to it by April ! Having to train late morning/early afternoon is something different to what I'm used to, training in the evenings but it seems to be working out alright, can usually manage to find someone to make sure I don't kill myself :pfft:

Anyway possibly Tris tomorrow, see how I'm feeling, might have a rest day to just get back into the volume after comp, Deads on Friday so that'll be what I'm looking foward to either way !! :nod:

Hahaha, well maybe that was the wrong thing to say, there was a couple reps left in the tank if i'd had to, lets say that :lol:

And let's be honest 15 reps on Bench is childs play compared to 15 reps on Squats :pfft:

Week 1 Day 5

Deadlifts

Deadlift: 195x8 :banging:

Good Mornings: 60x12, 80x12, 100x12, 110x12, 120x12

GHR: 4 sets of 10, BW

Westside Ab Pulldown: 36x12, 42x12, 42x12, 42x15

Dam it ! Only 8 reps on Deads today ! Guess high rep Deads will take a bit of getting used to again, they're a completely different story to low reps, should be alright next cycle I hope, I'll just try and hit 8 reps each week on this cycle so I don't feel so bad.. Good Mornings and stuff felt alright, will try go heavier on those again next week and hopefully hit 140 in the next couple weeks :nod:

Anyway next week isn't far away, I'll be training in Chch Monday and Tuesday then I'm over to the Coast to visit the family for a week, but luckily I can train over there at Fat Max's so should still be a few good sessions next week !!
