Quoted for truth. Our natural diet, that is without modern food prcessing and manufacture, is supposed to have very minimal carbohydrates. But is high in saturated animal fats. only 10% of cholesterol comes from the diet, the rest is synthesised de-novo in the body via the mevalonic acid pathway which is conected via krebs cycle to the glycolytic pathway, the pathway which breaks down carbohydrates.

In English Brah?

High cholesterol is more related to a high carbohydrate intake than it is to high cholesterol intake, converting excess carbohydrate into fats for storage. Hence people on a high fat high protein diet having low cholesterol readings. Their bodies are using the fats the ingest for energy. So it's either carbs and low fat or fat and low carbs.. sadly in our current climate it's high fat and high carbs and everyone being an obese mofo with off the charts cholesterol levels. Kapeesh?

Hahaha couldn't have said it better! Repped.

so would most bodybuilders have high cholestrol in the off season?? as carbs a high protein is high and fats are usually high also more often than not.

Does anyone have a record of how many Big Mac's consumed in one sitting?

I'm going to throw this out there with 4 any takers?

Ummm I ate 4 once with 2 cheese burgers and 2 large choc shakes. I was skinny then and seemed to have a bottomless pit of a stomach!

4 today and a large chicken kebab on rice with extra hummus and a ....... sprite zero  .... (4 yesterday too ... hahahaha!)

A guy prattles on about how bad big macs are for your Health and yet regularly uses tren. Are you a wizard? U must be a wizard.

I was going to say the same thing! If you were so worried about your cholesterol why would you be on the juice? What you eat is neglible in affecting your cholesterol levels compared to what your hormones are doing.

Anyway, it's a shame it's limit 2

I didn't no there was a limit? Maybe I just have the look of a severely undernorished buffalo and they take pity on me

id have to respectfully disagree with some of the things said.

Our natural diet, that is without modern food prcessing and manufacture, is supposed to have very minimal carbohydrates yes and no - there have always been fruits, grains and other carbs to forage. in tropical islands, there were/are an abundance of fruit. there is plenty of research to suggest the reason why humans stopped synthesizing vitamin c (and others as well vitamins) was as a result of this very factor. inherently, we are meat eaters, yes, but i definitely dont see how man would have neglected any food source at his disposal.. But is high in saturated animal fats. only 10% of cholesterol comes from the diet, the rest is synthesised de-novo in the body via the mevalonic acid pathway which is conected via krebs cycle to the glycolytic pathway, the pathway which breaks down carbohydrates.this sounds interesting, ive never heard of anything like this before - are there any references to back this up?

High cholesterol is more[also*] related to a high carbohydrate intake than it is to high cholesterol intake, converting excess carbohydrate into fats for storagethis is a natural process where energy is stored in adipose tisuse; thats different to cholesterol build up. Hence people on a high fat high protein diet having low cholesterol readingspeople on high fat low carb diets have healthy cholesterol because they eat an abundance of good saturated fats such as red meat, cheese, butter, cream, eggs; good mono fats such as fish, olive oil, almonds etc and supplement omega 3.. Their bodies are using the fats the ingest for energy. So it's either carbs and low fat or fat and low carbsi believe in this as well. because as athletes we tend to eat in abundance, we also tend to have steady optimal glucose levels, so in theory, we are only fueling adipose tissue without reason. its important to have omega fats and saturated fats in your diet for many reasons. i always have incorporated a fat and protein only meal - normally this will be when i "carb cut-off" before bed.. sadly in our current climate it's high fat and high carbs and everyone being an obese mofo with off the charts cholesterol levels. Kapeesh?

it is true - carbs are killing us slowly. here are some stats; 20% of americans suffer from heart disease, 25% of these are diagnosed with diabetes and 50% of these are diagnosed with pre-diabetes. refined sugars most definitely cause inflammation, and therefore an increase in cholesterol accumulation. i wonder if there are studies that suggest a high carbohydrate intake of any glycemic index has the same effects to a lesser appreciable degree?

and for the smart asses - i use steroids on my own liability. just because you take steroids, doesnt mean your health has to suffer. there are plenty of foods, herbs and spices, extracts and supplements you can implement to be proactive about your health.

Kiwis are not most americans and you have overlooked some of the other factors that put people at risk of heart disease like tobacco, obesity, harmful use of alcohol and high blood pressure (not ness caused through diet) Whilst some of the stats you quote are definately factors, the underlying fact of why they are at risk is because they have a disproportionate amount of addipose fat on their body. The simplest way to influence all of these factors is to improve your body composition through exercise and nutritional management and stop smoking. (You could say diet - but for me this is too generalised as portion control also plays a factor).

An interesting point to make is that you are applying the rationale to a thread in a bodybuilding forum .... because those stats apply to mainstream humans who don't exercise (or do very little) and do not eat enough meals and/or have poor portion and dietry controls.

Carbs are not killing US slowely at all mate - In the catchment you are quoting, there are a number of more commonly found factors like what I have suggested above - that you would be hard pressed to find in a catchment of bodybuilders, gym junkies and even powerlifters.

You use AAS at your peril ... great. I eat BIGMACs at mine (as do many others it appears :pfft: ) Why can't we just enjoy it? Thats why god created Ronald McDonald ... and to be fair, if a dietician/nutritionist tells you a BIGMAC is unhealthy ... they are a f*cktard. All food can be consumed safely and in moderation.

Oh and don't kid yourself that those herbs and spices you supplement with around your AAS are preventing anything. They may give you some emotional comfort but whilst you are on cycle, the complications you are trying to avoid can/ and probably are going to happen anyway. If your body is predisposed to it ... it happens.

:)

Yeah I guess is could possibly mean cholesterol levels would be higher in bodybuilders during the off season. But if anyone bothers to read the awesome link Daz posted you will find that although High cholesterol while not generally being good for you does not mean you are going to drop dead of a heart attack, infact many people just have a genetic predisposition to high cholesterol and never have any problems that you would traditionally associate with high cholesterol.

I think Opti hit the nail on the head, enjoy what ever the f*ck you want in MODERATION. Bad health outcomes like heart disease come about due to a number of factors environmental and genetic, there are so many confounding factors that you can't pin non-communicable diseases to "refined sugar" or "saturated fats".
