I might have to come down, Wa asked me to manage the platform but I have the kids. Is NZMM competing? Bench only? Be good to catch up again Gasp - PM me ur digits & I'll txt & let you know if I'm heading down. Was going to tee up a training session with Supry at some stage as well - could work, plus Lisa would be keen to go shopping!

Nothing!

Anyway, if you're going to compete again, bring the conditioning or even better. Most people don't even come close to that conditioning on a New Zealand stage

LOL - I'll be bringing much better conditioning this time & at least 12kg more mass!

In the middle. Striated glutes.

Thats Darren Farrow (ex Palmy, ex Chch, now Akld). Other guy is Kerry O'Brien from Dunedin.

my main man Darren! A repeat next year Nate...

LOL - all I know is both Darren & myself will be a lot bigger! I saw him in Akld a while back & he said he was keen to compete in 2012.

You looked awesome Nate! Great condition

Thanks bro, but I know I've got to be harder in 2012

Bit of an update from Chch Grand Prix...

Made it on stage at 93ish kg so approx 8kg heavier than Nationals in 2000. Didn't place anywhere great but was happy with where I was at after a 12 year absence. Nationals will be a different beast!!!

+10 ^^^^

you looked like a different guy in those pics, I just remember meeting a rather plump Strongman only 8 months ago so didn't recognise you in the lineup pics mate.

Fucking well done! got to be the most inspirational preparation I've seen in a while coming from "lard" down to "lean".

Don't go back to SM

Who knew strongman competitors have such tight waistlines?!

Good stuff, Nate. Was competing as fun as you remembered? How was the post-comp pig-out?!

I had an awesome time & have the bug!

Have been told to do Nationals and focus on a few areas and conditioning. Looking forward to stepping up a gear this year!

Got a few food issues to sort... Had a few heavy binges, and they hurt  LOL, but back into clean diet now with a few extra carbs.

Couldn't face a few isles in the supermarket yesterday - temptation too hard to deal with atm, kinda classic given I had such a strict diet & not a single cheat/refeed meal in 14 weeks!!!!

Felt awesome getting back into training on the Sunday (still dehydrated, hungover and sore kidneys! ), and have trained well Mon/Tues with cardio Mon/Tues/Weds. Will aim to settle back to normality for a while (4 am cardios, 5 trains per week) and lean bulk before I have to start pre-comp in August.

Hey Nate, got any pics of your weight class? It's just that, I've been hearing you should have beaten the guy who came second, so I'm just curious to see what he looked like.

Judges call it bro...it is what it is. Got to get used to subjective calls otherwise I might as well go back to Strongman right now!

Have a look on gofigure.

Be good to see the changes in between now and the Nationals!

Will definately be leaner (start point be around 10% rather than 18%), hopefully be bigger (doing a lean bulk for 10 weeks or so), hopefully be dryer (need to sort carb/water process better!).

Looking at paying for a good trainer for the finer points of conditioning, may look at Jon Davies or Mark Anderson if they'll take me on?

Mark Anderson... closer and more accesible plus personal touch.

I always think better to work with someone you have a lot of access to and who actually is invested in the outcome.

Amazing transformation from Strongman back to Bodybuilder  And done without any cheat meals  Dedication right there. Going to look ridiculous when you get even leaner for nationals.

Got any back pics from the comp? Surely with all the strongman training and now leaning right down, must have some impressive thickness and detail hiding back there?
