Club Physical Bodybuilding Champs 2006

Congratulations to of_wolf_and_man. Your first competition is a scary business at the best of times, but to be the only competitor in your class, and go through your mandatory poses alone on stage takes guts. Good stuff mate - hope you enjoyed it! :D

In fact, congratulations to all the competitors. It was a small show, but a good one. There were a few close placements (even a second round of judging couldn't break a tie in one case) and a lot of potential shown. Given a bit more size and conditioning, a few lagging bodyparts brought up to speed, and some help with posing, I think these bodybuilders could go far.

Anyway, enough talk - let's see the evidence. There are more photos likely to come later in the week, but here are some of mine to keep you going in the meantime!

(And if any competitors are reading this, and have their own photos they'd like to share - go right ahead! We'd love to see them!)

yo yo. cheers to pseudo for coming to the show. it was cool meeting you in person. (sorry i had to shoot off). yeah although i was the only person in my class, and made to stand on stage with those bigger guys, i actually felt quite confident and not as intimidated as i thought i'd be. and by the way, the pose down is by far the most fun part of being on stage in my opinion. good stuff with the photos too man. pity i forgot my own camera and none of my mates brought theirs... :?

anyways, it was an awesome experience for me and it was tons of fun. it's guaranteed that you'll see me at this comp again next year (still in the U19 class  ) and hopefully there'll be more competition for me. and it is most probable that i'll be at one of the NABBA shows next year prob in North Harbour.

Hahaha! Yeah, I meant to say - it looked like you enjoyed the posedown!

Glad to hear you've been bitten by the competition bug. Your routine was pretty good too. I'd never have thought the Pokemon theme was good posing music, but it surprised me - strong beats, stirring tune... it's actually really good.

haha yeah my mate gave me the idea while we were at a party and this song was played as a joke. ah, drunken ingenuity (of my frend...) sadly, the cd kept on jumping to the middle of the track and didnt play from the beginning... cuz the lyrics are really corny and my routine was kinda based on that... but o well, it all went well.

and big J, im quite ashamed to say i really didnt diet that much in prep for this comp. all i did was just try and cut down on the sugary snacks n just eat clean but my efforts would've been very very minimal compared to everyone else who competed.

im not planning on doing a NABBA comp in 2006 since it is a more serious level of competition and i'm not at the standard that i'd like to be at for these comps, and the judges will prob think the same thing. so i'm gonna give it one more year b4 i step on the big stage.

haha churr bro. yeah well i always thought it was important to smile while posing n doing whatever it is ur doing on stage. u dont wana be frowning while posing n stuff cuz people think ur uncomfortable up there n when u smile, u look much more confident.... and YES IT WAS A LOT OF FUN

oh and anyone have any clues if there are any videos available for this comp? i saw this dude at the back filming the whole comp while i was just chillin back stage n stuff so im jst curious

sweet looking little show. about the same number of competitors at the aucklands last year :) was planning on going but for $15 it was a bit steep. what prizes were up for grabs?

i think it ended up being only $10 or $5 in the end cuz the show was sponsored.... eventually. um prizes? just trophies for 1st 2nd and 3rd. there was a goodie bag that came with it cintaining numerous protein bars and 'healthy' snacks. the overall winners trophies were quite massive though... wouldve loved to walk away with one of those... but no cheques or big tubs of protein given out... sad i know...
