Figured it was about time I chucked some more pictures up, last lot was in Jan posted here. At the end of my bulk, these pictures are at 95.5kg, I peaked at 97kg 2-3 weeks ago but got sick/busy/poor so dropped a bit of weight unintentionally  Going to be slowly bringing weight down again and leaning out. I'm 184.5cm tall for reference.

My main focus is still on strength, but I would like to get on stage some time, probably 2013 or 2014. How do you all think I'd go for a novice junior? What areas do you think are weak, and what are my strong points?

Yes crap posing, not after posing tips yet

Looking good Phedder - shave the pits bro looks like some daddy long legs spiders trying to crawl out under your arms!

If you're serious about competing I'd recommend you talk to Phil Chaney at Sky Fitness - he's been around the scene a long time and can point you in the right direction. You've certainly got the base to do it.

Mate it's cold down here, those spiders keep me warm :pfft:

I'm actually going to join Sky next year, moving to a flat 180m from there \:D/ I'm planning on doing a 3 lift comp or two next year, and not sure if I'll still be in Dunedin when I end up getting on stage. That said, I'll definitely be utilizing his knowledge and experience as much as I can

Good stuff mate. You're not quite as lean as you were in the last set (although it's winter, so we'll excuse you for that!)

Definitely not as lean. I don't want to sound like I'm making excuses, but those pictures don't quite do me justice. I'm by no means currently lean, but I look better in the mirror than in those pictures :shifty: Guess that's what bad lighting and a camera phone gets you, but they're good enough to show I've gained some useful weight :)

Looking heaps bigger - traps, delts and quads especially.
Mean bro, Quads looking good!

Lets be honest, they definitely needed the improvement

Strong man! Well done.

Thanks bud :)

strong can of diesel 8%

looking bigger mate well done

HA! Whoops. That wasn't my post-workout drink, I swear

I would have been tempted to add a few more kg (fat or whatever) just to bust the triple figure mark :shifty:

But seriously looking noticably bigger man, how are you going to approach the leaning out process?

Believe me I was tempted, but I was barely affording to even maintain my weight at that point. Just means I have to get there next year  I don't plan on dropping below 90kg, so I'm confident I can add another 10kg next year. As for leaning out, I'll be keeping with the 16hr fast/8hour feasting window I've used to put the weight on. Starting off by changing little things, 1 banana instead of 2, and a bit less olive oil in my 'breakfast' shake. I've got some caffeine pills now as well, so popping 400mg when I wake up and will do 30min-1hr walks 2-3x a week. Probably add 1-2 HIIT sessions a week as well to bring my fitness back up a bit, but I'll down some extra protein and carbs before those so don't expect to drop much weight from them.

As already mentioned, you've made some nice gains there dude, especially those quads.

+1

The man knows his shit. And he runs the best gym in the South Island...NABBA agrees \:D/

You're going to look great when you cut down.. Prove me right! :)

Gimme 2-3 months and I will  Not looking to get super lean yet, but losing ~5kg of bodyfat should show a significant difference. Maybe another 2-3kg if I'm really not happy with it.

Cheers Ronin. Would you be keen to have a train at Sky once classes finish and before exams? That's between Oct 14th and Nov 1st for me. I'm gonna need to pop in and have a chat about membership options for next year, may as well get a good train in and would be nice to have someone show me around

Thanks for all the positive comments guys. Can anyone see any glaring weaknesses in my physique? or does it look like I just need to add more overall size before getting on stage?

Nice progress on Lats... May be more mass on legs (being critical)....Nice overall progress tho  .... you 7 kgs in how many months?

Thanks, definitely want more mass on the legs, and to really widen my lats. I maintained the state from the set of pics I linked until the start of March when I started studying again, so 6 months?

Not bagging you or anything but bro.....you got like 1500 posts and bein a moderator I thought you'd be alot bigger aye. Just sayin..

No offence taken, it's probably a fair assumption on a bodybuilding forum  I only really started taking lifting seriously when I joined these forums and began doing a lot of research and posting. I was approached to become a moderator more for my ability to remain level headed and helped diffuse conflict, as well as having a bit more of a research orientated take/knowledge base on some things. Definitely wasn't for my outstanding bodybuilding or powerlifting accomplishments :pfft: I dropped down to 78kg at roughly 10-12% in March 2010, so I'm happy to be where I am now 18 months later.

looking alot more solid there bro, good stuff!!

Cheers Red :)

have to agree with deano there, except i did see your previous pics. what do you think your bodyfat % is, it looks quite high to me. too much olive oil maybe lol? respect for posting pics though man

I'd be guessing around 16%? Haha the olive oil was probably the main thing that had me gaining weight, cheap and effective :pfft:

Just snapped another shot with better lighting to show that I'm not quite as fat as those first pictures make me look :shifty:

The first pics were semi-pumped, these are after me sitting on my ass all day doing assignments.

It's actually official NZBB policy that we don't choose moderators on the basis of their size or bodybuilding experience. And that's in a stickied topic in the Mod forum. 100% fact.

Now Phedder, I'm a bit concerned about the ab pose you put up. Either you're a giant, or that's a really low ceiling!

Hahaha! They're our various mod forums. There's a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes, and it takes us 3 forums to cover it all.

How did you find them, by the way? Was it just trial and error, or have I left some links that don't go anywhere lying around?
