What muscles can you train twice in a week

Recommended Posts

i like to do biceps twice a week and maybe triceps aswell if there fully healed ,(usually 2 or 3 days inbetween workouts)

-Does anyone on here train any body parts twice in a week?

-iv read in alot of places on the net that abz, forearms, calves, biceps, triceps and traps can be trained atleast 2 times a week, what do we think on here

-Is it more beneficial to du ether of these muscle twice a week or is just once a week for each muscle gud enough.

Sure you can train muscle groups twice in a week.... anything's possible but it depends on vary variable things like intensity, diet, and goals.

As an example, I got some good results off a split like this:

a. Morning - Quads/ Afternoon hams and calves

B. Morning - Chest/ Afternoon Arms

C. Morning - Shoulders/ Afternoon Back

D. Morning - Hams/ calves/ Afternoon - Quads

E. Morning - arms/ Afternoon Chest

F. Morning - Back/ Afternoon Shoulders.

Mornings were always superset-dropsets - 2 or three supersets of 8/10, dropping weights, afternoons were always pyramids 12/10/8/6, increasing weight.

So, this way each muscle group got a run-through two different loading patterns. Individual workouts were short and snappy, but (esp if you keep the breaks short) intense.

But coming back to your question... why? What's the goal, and why only arms ?

I think it's fine to train anything twice a week if your recovering fine. I generally do everything once a week but only because if I was doubling up on something something else would miss out (train 4-5 days a week usually 60mins tops).

I wouldn't have a problem recovery wise with anything twice a week, some three times would be fine too.

I train everything twice per week.

Mon - Chest, Quads, Bis

Tue - Back, Hams, Tris

Wed - Shoulders, Calves, Abs

Thurs - Sat - repeat

Sun - Rest (cardio only)

I haven't found any problem with recovery, but I figure that if a bodypart hasn't recovered in time for round 2, it's easy enough to adjust the routine to fit around it.

-hey bro my mornins have been duin power walks on treadmill for an hour and afternoons are my trainings,

-there wasnt any goals or anything i just wanted to see if there were many people duin certain muscles twice a week and if it would be too much or not.

-the reason for just the arms was that most other muscles like chest legs or back took longer to heal and only the arms always healed up in a day or 2 ,mind you i have only been bak in the gym for 2weeks so soon my muscles will get use to it as usual

my taining has been awesome,iv lost 1inch around the waist and the arms have gotten abit bigger and muscles are starten to show out alot more and its only been 2 weeks,

Everything! Train something regularly and see how it goes. Get over training through soreness and it won't bother you for long (I'm thinking more about legs here).

The world would be a happier place, if people would just squat multiple times per week

Training splits heavily depends on recovery and recovery is heavily influenced by your hormones. So I guess being natural Vs Enhanced makes huge difference on your split. So I guess training splits for natural cannot be compared to that of enhanced user…. Personally from my findings for natural BB 3-4 day split with train one part per week would work best (Sply during mass gain)…Of course to keep your body guessing one can use full body work out for couple of weeks…. Personally I do get tempted to train a body part twice a week to feel the burn…But I am also vary of over training !!! Hence I think 3-4 day split is safer… May be Abs, calves, legs twice … But bi gets trained any way during back days..Same with tri in chest and shoulder day :-s …. I am keen to hear some constructive feeds on training splits for a Natural BB….

A programme that I found was good for size was to train a large muscle group (i.e. back, chest quads) three times in a row till you've rooted it and are nervously wrecked, then have 9-12 days off the body part and start again. Helps with new growth and strength and a tip from Chris Cook was to train his arms in a high rep range on Monday (12-16) and a low rep/heavy weight rep range on thursday (3-5) for growth.

I do a deadlift variation every workout as i'm training for strength, and have got good size gains from training biceps for 15mins 12 times per week.

btw now that Drizzet reminded me yeah during Sheiko I did squat twice a week and bench 3x a week so i guess with a decent amount of rest/sleep/hardening up it's possible might do something similar from monday when I get back lifting since it's been 13 days by now the cortisone shot should of done its work from what Dr.CrazyFacials thinks
