Grams of protein during a cut?

Keep them the same. You're still going to maintain the muscle. If you had to increase them, then you'd just be having that amount in the off-season because you'd be growing better from it. Hard to explain what I mean, but it's unnecessary to increase them IMO.

Although, since I'm young my body utilizes macros more etc. so I'm not sure if it's different, but I've kept my protein the same for my cut.

whats ya stats? and how much protein do you currently eat?

depending on the above detail it would be hard to say whether you should increase it or not, an increase in protein increases your metabolism as your body finds it much hard to process protein...

Im 180 pounds, around 17% bodyfat I reckon. 178 cm tall

Was taking 180 grams of protein a day even when I was 162 at the start of my bulk.

Still taking 180 on my cut so far

I personally think you can decrease the carbs and increase the protein to 200-220, but it is up to you, varies with different people. What was your carb intake during bulk and now pre cut?

During bulk I was eating around 350-400ish a day.

Now im pretty much properly cutting, gonna start off by hitting about 170-200 on workout days and about 100ish on non workout days.

I'll see how that goes and adjust if needed. Im giving myself almost 4 months to cut (long time I know)

in that case id increase your protein intake a bit if you have decreased carbs by 50-75%, whats your fats intake like? have you kept that the same?

Why should I increase pro because of carb reduction? (out of curiosity-like having a wide opinion) and i've decreased fats only slightly. From 90 to 80 grams a day

you should increase protein, because you have decreased carbs by 50-75% which is quite alot, so you should make up that difference just a little by increasing protein intake for your body to feed off, maybe take some bcaa supplement if your dieting also, and if energy levels get low you should do some carb loading every week or two...

anyone else have any thoughts??

yeah, you should carb load twice a week and lower your carbs more than usual twice a week and have 3 normal days.

Sort of doing that, days I work out I have around 200, days I dont about 100. Each Saturday (when I play cricket) i'll have about 400

If you're cutting, I'd say have your carbs at 350 max

Mm yeah 350 max would be a good idea if I was only doing gym work, but im a fast (try to be) bowler in cricket and need a fair bit of energy during the day...I'll start at 350 and see what happens. Shot for the info :P

When people are doing a cut, they generally do cardio. Cricket is cardio.
