Squats were ok today 1st beltless top set since I have started this program and felt no pain and very strong something is certainly going on with the body and also confidence too. Coming out of the hole was a wee bit tough soon as I was out it easily finished off.

Bench was tough, Weight was fine it's the volume that got me at the end. Very hard to make your 6th set of 6 fast failed the very last rep had a small rest and grinded out one more rep to round the day off had some flies to flush out the lactic acid love them.

Shit just realised I was 6 reps short of the prescribed 36 :doh1: I thought I had done enough broke the 6x6 into 3's no real reason other than I couldn't be bothered the full 6 just lazy really. Back and body felt good no issues there grip was hindering me a tad so switched to alt grip and they started to fly up again after the 3rd set onwards. Again just wanted to finish up so banged out the last set of 6 with some vocal help from Quigley. Grip was all but gone afterwards to couldn't think of anything to do that didn't involve gripping things almost did some Squats but do want to be 100% for Sats 6x6 Squats.

Cats out the bag now most people have figured we've been doing some suited work and shopping around for some gear didn't log the 1st session a few weeks back but may as well share this one. We didn't really know we were going to suit up just felt like throwing some weight around today to be frank, think I did ok. Squats were not pretty due to me getting used to the new mechanics of a suit throwing my arse out a bit more than usual to get that pop at the bottom helped alot. Nothing really felt too difficult weight wise both raw and suited it was more the lack of technique that threw me off. I won't act like I was close to depth on those last few sets 240 was probably closest I think but didn't see Wa's footage so not really sure definately not depth but good have the wieght on the shoulders if anything.

We had a lunch time break at our usual Joe's Garage and came back feeling quite full and a tad lethargic but did ok for 2nd shirt session. Warm ups felt good could have gone 150 raw but shirted up at 140 and board work felt nice and snappy wasn't until I ditched the boards I struggled with 180 to get it to touch went down too slow and it threw my line way off. Chucked a half board in and gave it another shot and still wasn't there again slow and couldn't push it up Drizzt had to bail me out. Went back to raw for an easy 140 triple and called it there.

Close to 5 hours later we both left with many welts on our bodys but a good buzz knowing what could be there should we continue on in gear later on down the track, all I can say is watch this space...

Mixed it up a wee bit today decided I want to get more heavy Squat session under my belt than just the one on a Sat. So in conjunction with Sunday speed day I want to make Tuesday's heavy, Thursdays light (after deads) and Sat heavy. This will either give me the edge I need or break me so we'll see how it works out for MT. On the flipside as soon as I feel like I cannot keep up with it or it's disadvantaging me i'll pull it and stick to the program. So back to today I knew I wanted to hit 180 for maybe one set of 2 but as I was getting closer to it felt pretty good so opted for 3x2 and got them quite comfortably with the belt jacked up tight. To compare with 160 doubles at the start of the program if feels easier than that so will keep that my Tuesday weight over the 160 sets. Back off set was straight after pretty smoked so stopped when they were getting ugly.

Bench felt ok today, no issue with the weight but my shoulder was flaring up again so took away alot of my speed on the left side and back was trying to counter for that and put more strain on me. Squeeked it out DB flies to stretch out nice start to the week.

Another balls up on the deads today this time it was lack of strength. Body felt fine but 215 was way too hard to get off the floor supposed to be 5x5 @212.5 dropped down to 200 to make sure I could get 5 of something then moved it back up got a couple sets of 5 then when I couldn't get the 3rd set up I pulled the pin there was nothing left head was pounding from straining from the previous set and never really recovered from that. Really pissed off about that.

So thought about calling it there and going home but had a sit down and gathered my thoughts jumped on some speed Squats they felt ok then thought ah chuck in some board work and ended up killing the 3brd 200 would have been a PB and only went for that after the Beast telling me to go for it, think it should be there next week didn't really have an arch and no wrist wraps was a bit silly.

So on a high after them wanted to attack some rack pulls to redeem my shit dead day and they went fine good note to finish on.

Bit of a slow one today had to push Squats back a day to rest my back up but it was still pretty painful hence bring in some back off sets on the Squats. See how I feel Tuesday will most likely be a light day. Bench was ok didn't want to go over 160 just wanted to try out my new 48 that PT had kindly given me, thanks again bro i'll do the same when I don't use gear anymore and pass them down the ranks.

Easily clocked up 2 hours walking today hard keeping in the 105s as your training ramps up and would prefer not to cut cals just up the output. Squats were ok today chucked on the belt to get a bit more speed on the last sets.

Bench was ok too wish 135 felt better than it did would have liked 4x4 but couldn't manage it so dropped to 5x3. Chucked in some curls because I have no biceps and out of 3 people left at the gym at that particular time incl me 2 were curling so thought it'd be ok if I did some just this once.

Weight was well over today but not bothered there packed in the cals which was my plan for this week easily under 105 in the morning anyways...well I hope.

Squats were a tad sore today maybe still feeling Saturdays session a bit, knees were very creeky and not my best. I have noticed I no longer think about belting up @160 which is a big change come 4 weeks ago I could barely complete a set belted.

Bench felt strong as today but very sore, i'm at the point I cannot attempt heavy bench without seeing the Doc prior so saw him thismorning and bashed this one out but will need ongoing adjustment until and at comp then i'll back off completly. Quite confident to open on a 140 maybe 2.5 more and take some 7.5 jumps really loving lockouts atm as I get half way up lockout is almost faster than off the chest if not faster just need to hold the body together for 2 more weeks.

Well that went better than expected, was a tad scared of this session getting closer and closer then finally it's here I kept my warm ups short and sweet which worked in my favour. I found myself recounting after each set no way 235 could feel this good but no it was loaded right. Came off the floor nicely lockouts not an issue so very comfortable to open up on this would be a big difference doing them fatigued on comp day so will keep it safe and take conservative jumps.

3 boards were snappy too love chucking these in after deads feels like i've moved a bit of weight around. Cutting out all auxiliary work which again seems to work in my favour maximizing rest and loading up on the cals it's around this point I usually get sick or something breaks so very careful to keep on top of things this time round. One more session to go triple Squats I cannot wait.

Last Squat session for this cycle maybe one light hitout next week but looking forward to a deload. Top sets felt a bit slow would have liked to triple them but the 2nd reps were pretty tough 1st was nice tried to sink them deep. Still only 2.5 kgs off my RAW 1rm so that was a good feeling. Thinking i'll open a bit safer on 185 perhaps factoring in a deload this should be easy enough. Walkouts felt good liked having 250 on the back stance was a bit wonky as Drizzt pointed out definately the most i've walked out with just a belt.

Bench was good enough shoulder didn't play up at this weight which was good, still looking at 140 opener here.

Rest was just to cool down again not pushing it with extra stuff just doing my 3 lifts and getting out. 1 Week to go BRING IT.

Felt good for coming in today if only to get a wee sweat on with the hood up on deads which were pretty fast, anything over may have been a different story keeping it around the 55% mark for deload. Bench was flat back with feet up just working the chest. Body has been holding up well since keeping up with Doc visits got some cold tablets to fight off any incoming nasties. My body has been going through some sort of Alpha Gorilla mode where all I want to do is sleep and eat then sleep again so much so that's all I did all weekend besides going into the gym for Squats good way to live just very anti social.

Boy what a long weekend! Very cold place ole Dunedin but a very beautiful city thanks to tour guide Zane got to a bit of it would love to go back and spend sometime around there. So back to lifting Good comp for MT 1st Nats great experience good tough judging but fair and consistent which was a great way to learn and take away a bit from that. Stoked we supported the women on Friday and skinny buggers on Sat arvo as it gave the chance to size up the judges and due to that I dropped all openers by 5kg to make sure they stuck, I had never seen so many reds for deads at a comp before so had me worried there. knew I should be hitting PBs on my 2nd attempts all going to plan shame about the Bench letting me down there had high hopes for that lift out of the 3 and ended up being my worse i'll break them down for yall. Also being my 1st Nats had the chance to meet the proper powerlifters that I heard about from when I started PL last year the likes of AK, KP, Andy, Jono R and much more real nice guys a strong as an ox stoked to chat to some of them about lifting and training should hopefully be there one day eh.

Big thanks to NZPF for running the show, spotter loaders judges and the support from others who hung around after their comps to cheer on the fattys was awesome, and my man Brett for doing an amazing job on running for me but also checking in on me and telling me where the order was talking numbers and encouragement thanks breh. Also thanks to the boys Zane, Drizzt and jake we sure had a fun weekend trolling everything in sight good times.

Squats- warm ups were going great probably should have opened on 190 but wanted to test out the platform 1st and make sure I hit it DEEP no worries there bumped it up 10 sweet as just as fast as opener so another 10 took me to 205 wee bit slow felt like I grinded the s*#t out of it but Tutua assured me it looked good so would love to see the footageif there is any?? 2 PBs there happy as Larry not much detail needed really raw is pretty straight forward. Not sure what my 1 red was for didn't bother to ask.

Bench well not so good, 135 was piss easy forgot I had feet though got 2 reds I think maybe 3, didn't want to muck around doing that again and knew 145 was in the bank so took the jump up and got it up pretty fast no worries here feet flat ass down cool let's chuck it up. Yeah 152.5 never really left the chest not sure what I did here wasn't tight at all and mind wasn't really in game mode bummer but hey.

Deads my best lift without a doubt, all lifts felt fast and getting faster no sign of slowing down had room in the tank for 260+ but as I stuffed up the flights I had to post a total and wait for Tutua to respond...

The battle of the Titans comes to a close thank fk. I have not trained this hard since probably Smolov last year tbh I don't like losing and especially not to a lawyer what a great battle it was a true champ tutua is I appreciate the motivation to be stronger.
