Awesome Squat PB! Man that first rep flew up :shock: A good deload before comp and 5 plates is coming up :nod:

Nice squatting, so strong with that PB, bodes well for your upcoming comp. Another 5 or 10k there I reckon. Maybe even more when you add in comp day energy!

Thanks Harry. Kind of puts me in an odd spot now like do I up my opener and take smaller jumps or leave opener and make 2 largish jumps I'm not sure sat will give me an idea I guess.

Happy with today's hit out a very good gauge of where i'm at and getting comfortable with my openers. Ideally i'd like to qualify on openers alone and go nuts after that relax a bit but 575kgs as a qualifier would need to get it on a good Squat and dead Bench has taken a back seat for this program have accepted that and dropped my opener to an easy 130 as a result.

Squats felt good again not as good as Tuesday I might add numbers aside warm ups weren't as snappy as they were the other day so thought fek hope my 200 2nd lift is there. Chucked on the Titaniums and sunk 190 easily below parallel jumped to 202.5 although that did feel easy depth was questionable so would really need to get that if I want to shoot 210 come comp.

Bench not too happy with weight has dived to 97.8kgs definitely not intentional just eating well and no booze has shed some weight. 140 wasn't there just couldn't get the bugger off my chest so will open on 130 and maybe go to a 135 and pass the 3rd or something to save energy and smash the deads.

Finally deads were awesome best they have felt in a very long time warm ups were great got to 235 that flew up thought shit ok maybe 245 then good ole Drizzt had some faith in me said 250's there. Shoot ok chucked on 250 and that flew up! not a grind flew up was stoked with that bodes well for a possible 260 never would have thought that being so close so early in the year.

So not the most amazing day at the office would have liked that ever elusive 600kg total just to make me train harder i'll try get it on my openers next comp. The week leading up to comp I was pretty crook battling the flu and for some reason my asthma decided to flair up so needed to get me an inhailer which I haven't needed in about 3 years not making any excuses just feel I should explain why things were not 100% for MT. The old lady showed up hasn't seen what I do before and really had no idea what PL was and said she was pretty chuffed to see her little chubby boy get on stage and lift some heavy s*#t.

Squats were pretty shocking 2 comps ina row i've bombed my openers I had no idea I was 3rd on the list so left my wrapping up until the person just before me (Doc) this threw me off completly set up was rushed and missed depth. Made the wild guess that i'd get the 200 made sure I sunk that felt good tick that one off for a PB and finally getting the monkey off me shoulder proper. Kind of thought a 210 would be there if I got out of the hole as fast as possilbe kind of did then momentum stalled mid way up and had a good save my Matthew.

Token Bench nothing really to say there, 140 seems to be my bogie number haven't got over it in all 3 comps actually surprised at how easy 140 felt tbh knew a 150 was not there and wanted my energy for deads chucked in 145 and bombed that proper.

Deads were on today probably my favourite lift of the day if there was to be one. Energy was all but depleted but PT pulled me aside and offered up some Mrs PTs sepcial world famous Pumpkin Pie! My god that was amazing think I got 10 kgs out of i'll be asking for that recipe. Back on track 240 flew 250 was an absolute grinder did not feel like it did last week but hey. 260 was not there but I had to try it had a side bet with Beast for the lifting for the kids.

Which leads me to the main point of the day for me the fundraiser. A MASSIVE MT thank you to all of those who supported us and have given kind words of encouragement just checked now and we hit the target $2000 counted up one of the buckets I had $367 with some more donations to hopefully follow it's looking like a huge success I will most definately be doing this again next year perhaps for another charity open for suggestions if anyone needs help glad to shop.

Finally huge thanks for Warren and Ruth the spotter loaders and crew behind the scenes made it a very successful day for all those who lifted Ian for running my cards and my partner in crime Drizzt

Good work lifting and on the fundraising front.

Hard marrying up what you guys have been doing in the gym and bringing it to comp day by he looks but still an awesome effort. Stoked your mum came I bet!!!!

Thanks big fella, yeah deep down we all like to show off to the old lady now and then I guess. tbh you forget about who's watching when on the platform and just focus on the bar but yes it was nice.

Chur boys no it most certainly was not the plan just had nerves on the day few toilet stops and not eating until weight in as Drizzt did probably did us in the end but thought may as well get the wilks down as much as possible as I won't be beating these guys on brute strength.

93's had crossed my mind and if I was going to do it this was probably the comp to try it out i'm pretty convinced now with weight gain comes strength (look at HJP!) so i'll be switching to a leangains type int fasting dieting and putting the size back on which you worded perfectly Phed rebuilding the body.
