Main event: Tomsammce vs Android

hahahaha

I def couldn't last a round without some oxygen on standby :pfft:

i don't know why everytime he feels like he has to compete against me at all, and then he picks events he's training for, LOL my little 3yr old can beat me at crawling into small spaces...oh the similarity there...is that they're both little girls

pick an event then even if you picked bodybuilding I'd beat your fat ass tommorow.

I also think it is good to set goals as well weather they be training goals or goals in life like my goal is get a job in Wellys so I can get out of boring Dunedin and I wish IDW all the best on reaching his goal.

[MOD EDIT: No offensive comments, please.]

RAGE, cmon Tom, really? I didn't mean to offend you but you were being quite opinionated.

I think you should maybe stop taking gear and/or get some counselling.

Sorry IDW this went well overboard on your journal and I apologise for my part in it.

It's interesting to note that everyone is saying that 3 days a week isn't enough? Then saying that with steroids you should train everyday (ok only Tom said that but still)... might not be enough for some but it is enough for others. Personally I think most bodybuilders fall victim to doing too much and not knowing when to reduce volume. Note I said reduce volume NOT reduce intensity.

Good points here from Harry -

IMO the are so many ways to get a good result. No silver bullet - and I hate to use the cliche "everyone is different so should experiement .. " point but it fits into that category. When I was younger (like Tom) the more frequent workouts made more sense ... right now it would probably kill me. After two days I need a rest :pfft:

In saying that I have heard of pros taking 3 months off to completely reset ... makes a lot of sense too.

3-4days in the offseason for IDW isn't a new concept either - its a proven training cycle. As to if you can take an overall on it ... probably not, but sounds like you have a plan bro. (not even cutting yet - wait and see).

(IDW) Stay focused mate - even if you come close you can say you went into it with everything you've got. I think everyone will be watching how it pans out now ... good motivation for you.

Its going to have to be good though ... If this beast shows up, everyones going to have to bring something extra special.

There are some really good points through the thread

Different strokes for different folkes really

Look at Dorian, 4 days HIT

Phil Heath, says he trains everything 2x per week

Everything will work and change is always a good thing.

I prefer high volume like Phil heath and get good results this way, have trained Dorians way and yes got great results also BUT it is way more taxing on my body and just got injured so now prefer high volume

Work with what you have got and if it aint working then change

awesome IDW your goal might seem crazy but if you go all out and are willing to do what ever it takes it is achievable i don,t know if there has ever been a competitor in this country that has won mr nz in there first year of competition? always a first i guess either way if its gona motivate you to new bests then its allgood regardless

and I've set goals that excite me, better than setting a half-assed goal IMO

your goal is "half-assed" because its not going to be achieved. its rediculous, i would be more impressed with an obese person in my 12 week challenge at work setting a goal of loosing 4kg in 12 weeks and achieving it than you setting your goal and not having a shit show...

you have to be abit realistic... no matter what you did you wont achieve it even if u had unlimited steroids, unlimited hgh and all that shit.... had no job and a huge income making it your job to bodybuild from now till then...

its impossible for you to put on the muscle that you need to win in such a short duration, the guys you are competing against have years and sometimes decades of training and competing on you...

your just insulting nz bodybuilding by thinking you can do that even though its already a joke, and you coming across fucken stupid if you think u can go from 95kg soft to 92kg or whatever gay number you chose, ripped... theres dreams and then theres dreaming.

no offense dude, but isn't mr nz aiming a little high? you say you've never competed, and are at 93 but not lean... assuming you do end up competing, a lot of guys you'll be up against will be both bigger and more experienced. not just with posing and knowing what the judges want, but with actually getting down to sub 3-4% bf without losing too much mass. isn't it a little insulting to them and nz bb in general to say you're going to win mr nz?

its cool tho, if you manage to make gains, get some experience, and learn from it then setting the bar so high was worth it i guess
