So you plan to win an overall MR NZ this year despite the fact you haven't competed EVER before? Lofty goal bro

And bulk to 100kg then hit the stage at 95kg? Only dropping 5kg? Wow that would be amazing, you will have to try and keep under 6% bodyfat your entire bulk and be dry as a lemon. Good luck with that

I remember end of 2008 off two consecutive class wins having goal of working towards a Pro card and that motivated me for about a year until I realized I had to commit to more than what I was comfortable with and for a lot more years too

Good to have a goal IMO but you're right, it's not possible straight off the bat, never competed before, never dieted down to sub-5% bf...it can't be that easy there are hundreds of competitors every year trying to win just their regional class alone!

Show us you can win your class outright mate

Personally I think its better to set crazy goals and fall short of them than to set reasonable ones and possibly fall short of those anyway....

Aim high.

When I decided I wanted to do a show I knew almost 0 about anything to do with bodybuilding and the thought of it scared the f*ck outta me. Its much more achievable for me now but if I never started down that road then and just said to myself "well maybe ill just tone up for now" then I wouldn't be where I am (In b4 you look shit)

My life philosophy that's all.

Because I do not rush, I stretch and I warm up thoroughly before I hit a body-part. (srs)

Oh yeah each to their own I guess. If it works for you then keep at it!

Always best to prevent an injury than to cure one eh

Yes and because I work out with weights only 3 times per week I have to be as thorough as possible every time given my goals. Seriously, I'd only workout twice per week if I believed it possible to achieve them that way... there's many other things I like to spend my time on as well. Ah well... It's get big or die trying this year, after competition this year I'll likely take Bodybuilding a little less serious. 8)

No disrespect IDW, but those words tell me exactly why you will not be NABBA/WFF NZ this year or any other year. You have singularly sabotaged your own plan. It take TOTAL commitment & dedication to the Bodybuilding Lifestyle to achieve the results you are seeking. You can never treat it "a little less serious" or put your goals on the back burner for a couple of years. It's certainly something that I cannot do, & I accept that, but I wish you all the best anyway.

Hmm

gotta train more than 2 or 3 times a week... U take steroids too and the whole point basiy if being on then is so u can train more often... Not less lol

everyone on steroids should be training every single day to get the most benefit. Anyone who disagrees is missing the entire point of them.

I lol at these ppl on gear who train 3 and 4 days a week because they think they need a rest... Natty ppl at an elite level train everyday and u taking shit and train twice week?

Alright! Got me some 5-HTP yesterday after work at the Pharmacy. And man did I have a great sleep last night.

I think going forward I'm not going to use Tren anymore, I just hate not being able to sleep. It's just not worth it and all the problems that follow.

Also, if I'm going to compete next year I'm going to aim for the top. None of this bullshit oh I want to win my category or whatever. When I first started Bodybuilding I had all the enthusiasm in the world. Kinda like TLAF wanting to compete in the Olympia. I'm aiming for Mr NZ next year. I don't care if any of you think it's a lofty goal, it's the goal. I don't do things aiming for the middle or less than first place. I see Garry Jones (former Mr NZ) at Les Mills and if he can do it... so can I! (I don't really care if I don't achieve it... it's just the level I'm aiming for.)

And I'm going to train like it too. I think during my blast I was training too much and working myself into the ground. Two sessions in a day, while sometimes okay, is mostly just too damn much to handle. I think one session given all should be all I need and then I just need to make sure all the other factors are right.

Preworkout - heaped teaspoon of Jack3d + 4mg Albuterol

Weighed in at 92kg this morning.

Hamstrings and Calves this morning

Lying curls

Right up to full stack (90kg). 15-20 reps 'till half stack then 8-10 reps until full stack - only did 7 reps there.

Seated curls

Half Stack (50kg) for four sets of 12

Stiff Legged Deadlifts

60kg 10

80kg 10

100kg 10

120kg 10

140kg 10

160kg 10

Hyperextensions

3 sets of 20-30 at bodyweight

Seated toe presses for calves

8 sets of 15-20

Tomorrow is Back + Rack Pulls!

And Oblix if you read this... yes, you're bigger and taller than me, but when I step up on stage I'll present a better package than you ever will. Big doesn't equal good, in your case it just equals dumb. Screw you buddy.

A huge comparison that you've made with Garry. G has been training for over 30 years and won the Mr NZ Title in 2000 up against the likes of John Brookes. Its good to hear that you want to win a Mr NZ title, but you've got to be consistent in your approach in everything you do. So far, three days a week - isn't!. Bare in mind there are some major physiques within NABBA/WFF NZ a few names I can think of are Mark Anderson, Steve Orton his brother Keegan, Richie Parnham, Nelly, SG and more. You've got a bit of work to do bud - best of luck.

It's interesting to note that everyone is saying that 3 days a week isn't enough? Then saying that with steroids you should train everyday (ok only Tom said that but still)... might not be enough for some but it is enough for others. Personally I think most bodybuilders fall victim to doing too much and not knowing when to reduce volume. Note I said reduce volume NOT reduce intensity.

For most of his career Dexter Jackson only trained 3 days and and Dorian won how many Olympias training 4 days a week? The premis that Dorian adopted is that whilst your muscles might recover in a shorter time frame, steroids do not help your nervous system etc etc etc

Good to have a goal mate and be interesting to see how this phase of training goes for you.

Agree, and am used to 4-5 days myself and no more than that. The less I train the more I gain tbh, but if I did train more I would HAVE to eat more. So I choose to train less.

Dinah Lady made a good point, a goal worthy of a challenge is indeed a good goal, but I would say this that winning Mr NZ is prolly an "end goal" and not his "next goal"...winning a class to qualify at all would be a "next goal".

He might not even be thinking of Mr NZ this year in which case we've all missed his point and he's wondering wtf are we on... :pfft:

Just do it mate

Nope he said he is aiming for Mr NZ THIS YEAR

Comparing himself to Garry Jones is pretty arrogant. I bet $20 you don't even get on stage this year IDW because you 'weren't ready'

Your an idiot if you comparing idw with dexter or Dorian and ur just stupid if u think they only trained 3-4 days throughout their whole bodybuilding careers

It's quite simple u take steroids u train hard u recover fast u train hard again as soon as possible to get as many growth phases as you can in a certain amount of time weather it be lifting more, running faster, jumping higher and the easiest one which taka least amount of planning... gaining muscle!

Your old android and Harryb so yeah for u 3 days a week prob good. for someone younger everyday.

I train twice per day at moment (not both heavy weights) but I train hard and it's all cns taxing stuff. Why would you not make the most of the stuff your taking.

What you say about the cns is bullshit I know natural athletes who train more than what you stated and they can still get out of bed.... It's all about conditioning your body for it.

you know so little about bodybuilding it's ironic. stick to taking gear to get through your pump classes dude...lol crossfit and gear

and you looked like you don't even lift and much older than Phil Heath in the photo, can now see why you're so mad about this....must really cut you up inside

I last competed In 2007.

Obviously I havnt been interested in getting up on stage since then that's 5 years ago.

I just find it hilarious that you weigh what?? And I would beat you on everything in the gym... Squats, deadlift, bench, chins, rows and I only weigh 93kg.

You wanna do the hawked bay strongman comp.... Then we will see who actually lifts.

I'll put $2000 down and u do same winner takes all.

You look like shit and your proportions are fucked. You'll not win mr nz ever there are younger guys who look way better than you, shit I'm sure if I actually gave a shit about competing I could dedicate 12 months of my life to it and beat you.

OK first point was just saying that guys have been very succesful with limited training protocols. Not sure if that makes me an idiot but perhaps in your estimation and why would it be stupid to assume that what they say about their training is fact? Just because it's not something you think can be done doesn't mean they didn't do it. I think you're a bit small minded here Tom.

Not sure why the amount of time you train and frequency is particularly relevant either, you're not a bodybuilder, you don't aspire to be huge or freaky massive or even compete. Although you did say you might just cos you can and your condition would indicate you easily could.

Just because you can do more and your body can doesn't mean you should do more.

As to the CNS being the main issue, well it is....

Thanks bro you're a legend.

 here we go again

you must feeel you've lost something Tommy....else why are you always trying to get me to compete against you in things you would clearly win in. Tell you what, go out and buy yoursefl that shiny plastic medal you see every Saturday night at the Pakuranga night markets and pin it to your chest, parade around town with it saying out loud...

"I beat Android, I can beat Android at something he doesn't even train for, therefore I am a winner and have self worth"

sorry IDW
