4 1/2 weeks out

Recommended Posts

Looking leaner, mate. And I think your posing's improved too. Now you just need to work on that smile, but it's hard not to screw your face up when you're flexing everything else as hard as you can!

thanks, thats refreshing to hear as I did posing with Sanjeev the other week, fel alot more confident now. and yeah about the smile haha its not easy to control when trying to keep everything tight. ohwell i have 4 and a half weeks to sort that part out.

Looking lean mate.

Twist you torso a bit more on the side quarter turn and pull your shoulder back and down to give more width/taper.

Don't lean so far back in the rear lat spread as it will make your back appear smaller.

Side chest don't grab so far up your forearm clench your front fist but don't flex the wrist, keep it straight, then grab it with your other hand at the level of the muscle/meaty bit of your hand just below your thumb. Also pull your front shoulder back a bit more and down it will make your shoulder appear rounder and pop out your chest, lift your chest up more and squat down a bit further because you are quite tall.

Most muscular, just pull your shoulders back a wee bit to stop your chest from looking small and to round out the delts a tad.

thanks mate will give this a try tonight after i train. on the side chest sanjeev told me to flex my wrist as i have good peaks and it makes them stand out more

Flexing the wrist doesn't change your peak on your side chest, it just automatically brings your forearm up more causing it to contract. So really, just bring your forearm up a little more.

On your sides - I can't tell if you are, and it doesn't look like you are - twist your front foot to the back corner.

Leaning back on the rears isn't a bad thing because it brings out your erectors but you're back isn't thick or wide enough to do that, so like Riccardo said, don't lean back so much. Remember to squeeze the glutes and hammies.

Best posing advice I have read on here for a long time so make sure you take on this advice. Especially the twisting at the torso.

On another note, I notice in your lat spread that you are using a fair amount of pressure on your obliques to help pull out your Lats. Be careful doing this because on the day you will struggle to get any grip with tan on and your Lat spread will suffer. Practice getting those Lats out without digging the thumbs in.

Also remember you can never be too lean on stage so don't let your mind tell you otherwise.

Good luck and make sure you throw some leg pics up.

I'm impressed, you made improvements to your lats : ) - You look leaner, great potential later on down the track I reckon!! Good choice on competing, I can guarantee you after your first competition you will start to train a lot harder and smarter, even if you decide not to compete again!

Excellent posing advise from experienced competitors here tlf. International WFF Judging Criteria places equal emphasis on the performance & the presentation so that how you present yourself on stage, more so in Europe, is important. Judges there equally look at -

Round 1 : Symmetry / Front, Back and Sides

Round 2 : Presentation / Individual Routine

Round 3 : Grade of Muscularity / Compulsory Comparisons

In New Zealand & Australia the routine is not judged except for special awards but I believe its good to get used to this aspect of the competition if nothing else to show your personality as well as your physique. In time this may become a judged criteria here as well. Have a bit of fun & enjoy & entertain. After all its your turn to show the results of those long hours in the gym & at the dining table  Good luck at the Pan Pacifics :D
