Squat:

1 x 10 60

1 x 8 80

1 x 6 100

1 x 5 120

1 x 3 140

1 x 160 FAIL! I lost balance at the the bottom and feel backwards smashing my left hand between the bar and the cage. After some icing, a few painkillers and some tape I got back to work.

1 x 5 80

1 x 140

1 x 160

1 x 170

Can't really move my two middle fingers today and they are swollen as but I was lucky to walk away with just some bruising and a bit of blood.

Gutted about the injury! Yep you're lucky there, it could have been much worse. :)

The Coast Barbell Sept 17th Lift

This was my first comp experience and I loved it. There were some huge lits and a few thrills and spills (mostly by the same guy :pfft: ). It was great to watch and compete in. I competed in the under 93kg, still a sub junior. I came 4th in the mens U93kg class and won sub juniors, got a nice bag of creatine and a shaker.

Weight: 85.1

Equipment: Belt & Wraps

Squat:

165kg good lift

180kg good lift

190kg no lift - got pinned

Bench:

105kg good lift

112.5kg good lift

120kg no lift - simply didn't have the strength

Deads:

180kg good lift

200kg good lift

207.5kg good lift - PB :D my 500 total aim all came down to this extra 7.5kg

Pretty happy with my results, I got my 500kg total and broke 200 hundi on the deadlift. I even beat Leigh 8) we had a good contest goin on pushing each other all day, hes gona be my training partner for the next cycle, GC. A bit gutted about the 190kg squat, i was rushed for this lift as the previous lifter pulled out so I only had half the time i needed to wrap up and get IN THE ZONE, but oh well shit happens.

Heres some footage of me on the day

After the comp on saturday I am completely hooked on powerlifting. I know I'll be doing this sport for a very long time to come, so I'm going to aim to compete at auckland champs in 2013 with a huge junior total for u93 and maybe nats. My current goal im working towards now is too try hit a 600kg raw total within the next 12 - 18 months. I've got a lot of hard work ahead. Maybe after that I'll consider stepping into some equipment like bench and squat suits.

A few personal records I really want to get are...

A bigger chest

200 kg Squat - hopefully by christmas - DONE

220 kg squat

120 kg bench - also want to get by christmas - DONE

140 kg bench

220 kg deadlift - by christmas - DONE

240 kg deadlift

Im starting a ten week cycle with a Metal Militia Bench program, the Ed Coan deadlift cycle and I can't remember the name of the squat program. After this cycle I hope to have those lifts I want by christmas.

Also I want to get to 90kg b/w by the end of the year. - DONE

BRING IT ON!!!
