This was quite easy, the bar doesn't even feel like anything on my shoulders.. Before the contest I could tell there was some amount of weight.. Now it honestly feels like 40 or 60 kg on my back, that's good! \:D/ One slight problem though.. This morning when I was benching.. My right knee felt weird n had pain.. Ok how the HELL did that happen.. :-s I wasn't using my damn knees... So today when I was warming up, I felt a slight discomfort but not enough to make me leave the gym. I shouldn't have been at the gym either way since I wasn't feeling too well today due to lack of sleep.. But I didn't wanna miss the squat session, want to keep it progressive ya know?

I hope nothing happens... :( I accidently banged my right knee real hard on the cross trainer (walking past) wtf.. Talk about bad luck, it's like I'm meant to f*ck up :pfft: - Will update you all about the knee on weds. Otherwise, I got through the night, hope it gets better :pray:

I still can't fathom or comprehend 4 plates though :oops: I guess it's a mind thing.. I think I've said it here before but I know someone who did 227.5 1 rep max and he weighed 75. I shit you not! RAW.. This is what made me believe it's possible. Let's find out...

You were right the first time, I'm a 27 year old girl :grin:

And I'm only studying at uni part-time, papers I have to do for work. I've always been a bit of a tomboy, so its no wonder people on here think I'm an old man :pfft:

Man, what a day to start off.. Got a growling from my mom because I let the cat inside during early hours and appearantly attacked her lol! Heard a loud scream so I turned back just as I was about to go to the gym and she starts giving me grief as to why I let the lil shit in lol. Thing is with my cat is when there's no one around or it's all quiet, it makes fucking loud and obnoxious meows... I wish I could silence its voice box or something :pfft: , tried to put him back in the garage and he bit my calf. ALWAYS bites my calf muscle when I walk past, but I give him a good lil shove and I usually win. Come out bleeding but still victorious! \:D/

Sadly during the gym I wasn't too victorious..

Day 18, Back

-Deadlifts

Man wtf happened to the deadlift! :-s I couldn't even shift 160!! :shock: that pissed me off but I learnt not to think about my failures too much otherwise it ruins my day / workouts and I can't afford to keep plummeting.. :doh:

I usually warm up with my dead lift with over hand grip until I get to 120kg that's when I use the alternating grip, then at 140 onwards just 1 rep of each until I get to 170... There may be a few reasons as to why I couldn't.. Training at 8 AM OR because I am feeling crook from Sat night, have the whole flu / fever but it's not as bad as it should be since I tend to live a 'healthy' life style meaning my diet consists of 95% of it being 'healthy' and I keep physically active blah blah, but who knows.. Could just be a bad day or I didn't try hard enough.. All I know is I do feel a lot more energetic in the after noon or night times because of the food that's in me, but that also is bullshit because I was doing 160 like a week out of my show! :-s If anything i should be stronger not diminishing slowly.... :x and you all know how pissed I was with last weeks back work out..

Decided to forget that stupid exercise and go on to pull ups, 30kg felt heavy as hell.. I didn't even BOTHER trying to up it to 40kg. Always go on by my instinct and as with the deadlifts, 150 felt quite heavy so I shouldn't have stopped at 1 rep, should have repped it out because deep down I felt that if this was tough, then there's no way 160 + was possible.. ANYWAY, I guess I felt a great pump in the lats despite the lower weight... I hope it is the sickness instead of anything else! :pray: only next week will tell..

Lat pull downs were greattttt. FINALLY! Something to be satisfied about in this work out.. Form was great and by then the lats were aching... The punishment didn't stop there, decided to get the trainer to throw 20kg plate on me when I was performing the rack chins and this was quite a toughy, I think I used a bit of momentum during my 8th repetition and onwards so will need to double check that next time if I want to progress any further in development!

Bent over rows and T bar rows felt pretty tought too :shock: though I repped it out good enough and felt that squeeze.. Had to take my thermal off cause it got too hot.. I won't lie, I saw how pumped I was in the mirror and got carried away posing LOL! What a fag!!! :doh: but looking real full and defined still so I thought why not! :grin: ANYWAY!!!

Did stomach pulls which basically is when you go get a rope extension and pull it towards your stomach, great squeeze in it! I would use the cable row but some asian lady was on it and I didn't wanna waste time.. Remember my teacher won't let me eat so if I were to keep the flow going I was go home in time to eat which I ended up doing :grin:

All in all, not a bad effort.. Lat pull down and rack chins improved so that's cool.. rowing movements still the same really so I will need to do something about that either increasing the reps or the weight (I prefer hte latter!) and the dead lift / pull ups were disappointing to say the least but atleast I still did it and got a decent pump out of it..

Man at this rate all my other body parts will smoke my back.. :think: gotta step the game up and improve every body part!! Roll on arms tomorrow!!! :grin:

Yeah mate I did! Basically, heavy pressing movements (heavy for you) and controlled on the way down (2-3 negative) and actually using / contracting the chest for the movement up

Basically, if you know how to bounce your pecs, 'flex' it when you're pressing the bar, so you are actually using your chest not really your arms. Yeah you tend to lower the weight but you build your way back up to it eventually :) Hope that helps in some way~

Also huge portions :lol: ) ... hoz ur arm progress coming along??? with your arms only day....

DM15: Thanks mate :) welcome back! Honestly I have been pondering this myself.. I am VERY excited to go to America, but at the same time.. Will it hinder my progress? If so, oh well.. It's only a month, and I'm not competing any time soon so who cares.. But knowing myself I will probably aim for a macro target down there and find a gym :pfft: - Food is cheap there eh? And large quantities? I hope you're right.. That would be a dream come true! :grin:

Arm progress is coming good mate! Thanks for asking! Still nothing compared to my legs and back, they grow fast compared to my arms but slowly getting there mate, only been 3 weeks / nearly 4 weeks so I guess only time will tell :) if I can add another " to these strings for arms then I will be semi pleased :lol:

I'm at uni at the moment sitting next to my mate while he does his assignment.. Lucky for me, I finished last night ;) ... Sadly it's real half ass :( guess my mark will determine how hard I will go in my next assignments, otherwise no use crying about it... yet anyway :lol:

Day 19, Arms

Not a bad pump! I said I was going to move up the weight in some areas mainly the reverse preacher, but I thought I'd take another sesion or two before I progress. Dumbbells aren't really like EZ bars or barbells where you can add 1.25kg each week.. 15 to 17.5kg is bit of a skip unless I do it with super ease, so I think I will stick at this weight for now :shifty:

Might have noticed I dropped the weight a bit on the EZ bar curls, only because I felt an awesome pump and it was really controlled! My biceps arm cramps up when I try to flex my biceps :lol: good feeling! :D - speaking of which, my back has GREAT doms that I haven't felt in a good while.. They say it doesn't mean anything, but to me it means I actually targeted the muscle good enough :pfft: - What ever helps you sleep at night huh?

-Cable press downs

-Dips on the power rack

Awesome tricep pump :) - I won't say it was as good as last weeks but it was still good enough stimulation which is exactly what I hope for in each of my workouts. I am close to doing the whole stack on the tricep push down :lol: never been able to do that, so I guess that's some what progress. If I manage to do the whole stack next week, then I will aim for more reps each week following.. example if next week I do 10 reps of the whole stack, then the following I'll try for 11. We'll see though.

Did 10 mins of high intensity cardio too, felt like a fat slob doing nothing during this week so thought I'd do something about it.. Feeling really relaxed at the moment.. Kinda funny cause I hear people around me all stressing out about assignments and shit :pfft:

Tonight I will be doing squats! \:D/ Knee feels like 95%.. I am still going to perform them! Been REAL clumsy lately too, remember how I said I hit my knee on the cross trainer? Well today I was walking past and I hit my elbow real hard on the bench bar.. :doh: gotta start paying attention to my surroundings..

Anyway, friend is bitching to me about getting of the site and helping lol! Little does he know I hardly know shit! :pfft:

But at the same time, lost motivation to start this sort of programme due to me going on holiday in about 10 weeks time =/ - I guess I am just having 'fun' with training, but still taking every rep serious... Shit I don't know anything anymore :doh:

Sorry I bailed on y'all yesterday, I was SUPER busy.. And in fact, it will only get worse and worse with time :( - Who thought a sport degree could get full on eh? Lol nah I do got other obligations though.. A friend of mine actually is looking to try out the NZIFBB Waikato that's coming up and he asked me to help him out with his nutrition so I really want him to succeed :nod: - I will post pictures of him closer to the comp time.. Before and After shots :)

Also got assignments I haven't started... Gotta go to work which I hate... Hey can anyone tell me, what happens if I just not go?? Can they sue me? :-s like I seriously hate it and I feel like I could do more training or uni work with my weekends...

So at uni yesterday I had go do all these physical testings (Mainly cardiovascular) and so I wore a t shirt and stubbies (no homo) - instantly got comments about my legs :lol: (yes I guess 50% of me knew I would since no one in my class has them!! Even though they ain't like soundsgood's or wheels'!)

One girl got told bout how much I weighed, looked like she saw a ghost... Sheesh :shock: - Teacher was fascinated by them too :pfft: good ego boost for sure!!! \:D/ Yeah yeah I'm an attentionseeker :pfft: better make the most of it!!

Day 20, Legs

So I decided to go train with Grant and Jhoon at Les Mills just due to boredom.. Needed a different scene and what not etc. I trained with Jhoon's lil bro and because we both couldn't agree on what to do, we both decided to give legs a shot.. So I changed leg day with shoulders / calves. It was.. GOOD I suppose, but definitely wasn't as intense as the stuff I did at my gym. Guess that's the down fall of training with someone or changing gyms. The atmosphere and vibe is different, but it's awesome nonetheless!

-Hamstring curls

*3x8 160.. lbs I'm guessing? The machine went to 200lbs.

-Stiff legged deadlifts

*weightless :lol: was showing Jay how to feel his hamstrings being worked which I succeeded! \:D/ see! They should give me a PT job! :pfft:

-GHR

*3x10 (weightless again) reason for this was because my uncles were tucked in a different position, their lat pull down seat was shitty, could hardly fit both my knees in.. But I managed to do it. Great hamstring pump but definitely had better.

He was limping.. Couldn't do the GHR, though that comes with hamstring development / strength I guess so hopefully he keeps them in his routine :nod:

-Squats

-Front squats

-Machine legpress? :lol:

*3x15 whole stack.. GOOD PUMP THOUGH!

Man, I've had better quad days, but I did squats night before :lol: jesus, talk about over training huh :-s Thank god for the weekend... Anyway, that leg press was a joke but man what a good pump! For me it had the right movement to target the quads, while other legpresses I had to sorta use my mind muscle bullshit ya know? This one you just .. push I guess? I mean I know you do that with the rest but for me I felt like I had to do a bit more to get some sort of stimulation.

Next week in class we will be doing one rep max.. So I want to atleast do double my body weight which I know I can. I will aim for 150 but if I can do more sweet if not oh well. lol.

Not a bad day, had a pose down with Grant and Jhoon etc, got smoked as usual but I'll catch up to them :lol:

Day 21, Shoulders

Calves were SUPER pumped this morning, aching from the GHR having to hold me stable. Winged it. (Not gonna be a top competitor with that attitude eh? LOL. Atleast I didn't lie and say I did.)
