Definitley looking leaner, probably around 20% atm :pfft:

after the show concentrate o learning your compound movements. Machine chest press can only take you so far. Your trainer should know better too :twisted:

hahaha thanks for the advice ill let him know!

Congrats for getting up and doing it

As others have said

- Chest needs work

- leaning down nicely

-POSING bloody awful practice man lots of it

good luck

Its harder over 6ft to get the look!

yup man agree 100%. i am getting taught to pose properly soon so wont be a problem. yes i am geting lean i am not worried about that. and as for the chest....fuckin most frustrating bodypart no matter what i try...any tips? (other than give it time)

abit off topic but i don't see why the teen class has athletic i don't get it? anyway make sure you come in ripped as you don,t have enough size or shape to get away with even coming in just a little bit off goodluck and goodwork so far with the progress

thats the idea.

Wrong. It wouldn't be you didn't do it enough, it would be that your intensity wasn't good or you actually ate enough so that the muscle has healed.

That's a fairly decisive rejection, SUAS. Sometimes it's wise to consider other points of view. Particularly since I suspect Grover's been a member here longer than you've been training. :-s

Of course intensity is important, but personally, I totally agree with Grover in advocating volume and a varied range of motion.

:roll:

These young puppies!

:lol:

Wish it was just a case of eating enough to cure the DOMS

All good to throw different theories in the ring, end of the day comes down to each individual

Myself at present trying to get a bit more muscle higher up chest so doing following exercises for 4 weeks, plus others for the rest of the body

Mon

* Incline bench 10 sets 10 reps

vary incline position each week

* Cable mid chest pulls 3 sets 8 reps

* Cable Upper chest 3 sets x 12 reps

Other days gets some extra workout with other exercises such as cable pulls, cable push

try different exercises, don't get stuck in a rut, hammer away at it, good luck

I'm just saying it's wrong because his was such a narrow statement. Just because he's been training longer, doesn't mean that I can't correct him. I've corrected many people, so it really doesn't matter.

How can you know it's wrong? Whether it was a narrow statement or not doesn't matter, yours was fairly narrow also. They could both be spot on and exactly what Trainlikeafreak needs to do to get some good chest growth happening. We don't know what he has and hasn't tried, so we can't say what can or won't work. All we can do is provide options for him to try until he finds something that works.

Trainlikeafreak, looking nice and lean for 8 weeks out. Will you put up some more pics before you compete?

Thats got to be the worst statement of the year.

So what if someone has been here a long time. Being a member of NZBB for the longest amount of time doesnt mean you know more than a newbie.

Gym rats been here a long time too......

Well then, how about what works for everyone. Proper range of motion, control, intensity, eating and rest. Either that or gear.
