Oil Spill

Recommended Posts

Ya'll, I've noticed that occassionally a small amount of oil seeps out of the injection site immediately after pinning. It's miniscule, but I can't help but feel pissed off when it happens because it's an expensive drug being wasted.

Does this happen to others, and what can be done to prevent this?

'Z' track the injection site.

basically u pull the skin to the side, inject, then remove syringe then let go of the skin. the idea is to seal the hole/track from the muscle to the skin surface.

yeah I've heard about this but never bothered with it. Will try.

So Anaru,

You're straight into the business end of things here. Wanna give us a bit of a history in terms of AAS?

Some will be from when you pushed the air out originally. That oil that you push out to start with stays on the needle, when you pin.

As you push through, it stays on the skin.

A little bit of oil goes a bloody long way. I believe most of your issues is with that. Maybe assess the amount you are losing when removing the air pocket.

or the excess left in the syringe.. :pfft:

Isn't there a technique where you inject a tiny bubble of air afterwards? Wouldn't this solve the leaking and the waste left in the syringe?

EDIT: The air lock technique - or is this frowned upon?

Nice - haven't tried this but sounds like it would work. Thanks.

are u sure u would want to inject air with the possibility that u may have hit a vein and injection into it?

That's why I asked if it was frowned upon. Hopefully you'd be aspirating first, so you'd know you weren't in a vein. And the article does say it's used for IM injections. And apparently it takes quite a lot of air injected before it kills you (sorry, Hollywood!).

Having said that, it's not a technique I've seen referred to often among bodybuilders, and being a nattie, it's not something I've had any experience with anyway! I just wondered if anyone did it, and if not, why not?
