Yo, my names Rory, this is my first post on here.

I've been working out for about 2 years now. I'm 17. I had no clue about anything until I joined Coast Barbell where I learnt and still am learning a lot about muscle building and strength training, thanks to Damo a.k.a, Steak.

I started getting into powerlifting this time last year and got great results from a 6 week sheiko program. My body weight was 79kg. My totals before starting were a 135 kg squat, 85kg bench (first time pausing on the test day) and a 162.5kg dead lift. After the 6 weeker my new body weight was 82kg. My new totals were 150kg squat, 95kg bench and 195kg deadlift. Just into my first week of a 8 week sheiko my hip flexers started playing up, they got so bad I had to stop squatting and dead lifting.

To this day I still am having problems with them, when I go to parallel and below that really screws my hip flexers up. For almost 10 months I haven't been able to squat consistently for more then 3 weeks without them playing up. I've really increased my pre/re hab. I roll using solid pipe, otherwise known as the VIOLATOR on my quads, ITB and hammys. I then use a soft ball on my glutes and piriformis. I'm also stretching about 4 times a week.

At the moment I've acquired a mean hip tuck at the bottom of my squat, due to my tight leg muscles. I'm looking forward to getting my legs sorted out once and for all so I can get into squatting again and smash some metal at the club comp in september!

I'm doing 5x5 training at the moment, but more often then not I have to skip squatting, or at best squat to a high box. Getting some good gains on my other lifts though so it's not all bad news :)
