Body Sculpting/ figure routines

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

I have been asked to choreograph a couple of sculpting routines for some members at my gym.

Could someone please let me know what the specifications are for these routines (such as compulsary moves, time limits etc) and also if anyone knows of any links where i could check out some womens SCULPTING routines that would be awesome.

I've found heaps of Body Building routines but not many sculpting.

Cheers

Sophia

Hi Sophia. I don't think there are any compulsory moves that need to be included in a routine (although incorporating the standard poses is often a good way to go), and as for timings, you'd need to check with the specific organisation that's running the show. It should be on their website.

Perhaps one of our ladies can help you further though.

Nuria Novoa may be a good place to start. She writes on gofigure;

Her contact details should be there too.

Although I'm not a fan of 'posing' during a routine, some athletes manage to pull it off with remarkable grace in such a small time of 60 seconds.

Loretta McMillan from Aus is one of these athletes (sorry kiwi ladies no disrespect meant)

Within the judging criteria of NABBA-WFF 'Figure' wording you will find:

The emphasis must be on feminine shape and proportion.

Elegance, femininity and poise are essential as is skin tone and artistic presentation.

'Bodysculpting' is 'Figure' in bodybuilding, same meaning different wording so those clips you are looking at will perhaps give you some ideas.

Really though get the music sorted first as once you listen to the music usually the moves will follow, how long to you have till your clients compete?
