I just joined up today. My goal over the winter is to build muscle/strength for my sport (competitive track cycling), so I'm not a true body builder or power lifter, but I hope that is okay!

But I have set a goal over the coming months to really increase what I can lift for the DL, Squat and BP, mainly as a personal challenge so I don't get bored in my non-competitive cycling season but also over the last 4 years, I haven't really made any gains with these lifts.

You'll find with doing the amounts of cardio you would most likely be doing, your muscle mass and strength will increase incrementally. You may may make some increases, but it won't be as much as you would without cardio. BUT in saying that, track cycling is your main focus and good on you for setting goals. So what are those goals exactly?
