Need help with workout

Todd

Recommended Posts

Been doing my current program for 5 going on 6 weeks now and want to change it up. I'm currently doing a basic push, pull, legs workout.

Push:

Bench

Mil Press

Dips

Close Grip bench

Pull:

Chin ups

Upright row

Bent over row

Single arm row

Legs:

Squat

Deadlift

Calf

Lunges

Been doing 4 sets of 8-10 with about 1.5min rest between sets, doing day on day off.

My question is would I be better changing around the exercises, or the sets/reps or both?

I'm not a bodybuilder just wanting to put on a bit of size.

Cheers guys

Yeah do it on those days. Been going to the gym for a couple of years, not hardcore just general stuff. I was under the impression that you should change workouts around every 6 or so weeks is all.

Hey newbb.

So when you change yours up do you normally change sets and reps or exercises?

sometimes i keep the same excercises and just change the reps and weight, sometimes i change the exercises and keep the same reps and weight. and sometimes i change the excercises and reps. i usually keep the basic compound excercises just change them up from DB to BB and order in which they are peformed in my workout. the muslce gets used to doing the same thing over and over again so you have to keep the muslce guessing and shocking it into new growth.. hope this helps :D

So how would say increasing rep range to 12-15 and rest and dropping the weights go? Ive done 5x5 which was good for my strength, but i want to gain a bit of size now so i dont really want to drop the reps

so u train mon-wed-fri

other days are all rest days?

whats ur diet like?

is this your 1st time doing weights? if so, id stick with the programme for at least 2-3 months before changing it

If you've got a training programme that seems to be working, why change it...????
