Finally got to do my last day of my Sheiko cycle today. Went pretty good, apart from one save Steak had to pull off on my squats.

Squats were pretty good today, just nursing a dodgy toe and that shall be my excuse for missing the one squat.

Bench, going strong, finding new and more comfortable ways to set up and keep the tension all the way down. Hopefully I can put a few kilos on my total at the next test day.

Will post the numbers tomorrow.

Going hard at my deads Big John, I feel it will be my strongest lift, got to have one to keep that bloody Red Machine in my sights.

Got a number in my head that I will keep to myself for now so I am going hard to get up there with the deads.

Lol, Steak its a feel good exercise for me, its not easy being surrounded by monsters every time I walk into CBC. I need some away time to reflect, lol.

I also like seeing where I started by watching some of the youngsters train at Jetts. Gets my focus back.

By the way, those singlets were too big for me at one stage!!!

Lol...still alive and kicking. :dancing:

Will you be chucking up Mondays and tonights training? and any reflection on those sessions for future reference for your training plan post July?

I sure will be, I left all the info at the gym so I will get it up tomorrow. Didnt go tonight, trying to sort our home loan out so tomorrow will be a catch up day. Luckily its a deload week with a test on Saturday.

How the toe?

Right, time to do some catching up. Have not been well most of this week so my motivation levels have been way, way down.

Could not train from Monday through to Friday due to a bite on my leg.

I did my first skills assessment after a Sheiko cycle yesterday and I have mixed feelings about it. I am very happy as well as bitterly disappointed in myself.

The good, for a guy who could only use a little squat machine stuck away in the corner of CBC I feel I have come a long way in my squatting. I have worked hard at this and managed to overcome a gammie knee and legs that resemble tooth picks rather than power lifters equipment!!! I opened on 185, 5 better than my PB, went straight to 195 and after a bit of video footage checking we decided to give me the white light. Then the crushing part. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would squat 200!!! I wrapped up, stepped up, picked up and then fucked up. The weight on my shoulders did not feel as bad as I thought it would be and my set up was strong. I went down, think I got depth and then doubted myself. I think it came up fairly quickly and then right at the end.......I took the bar for a bit of a walk and stepped forwards with my right foot. How and why, I wish I could tell you.

Squatting done I got stuck into what has always been my favourite lift, Bench.

The less I say about this the better. I dont want to get all worked up about it again so we will say this. I sucked, big time. What I have done for reps I could not even lock out. Thats the game for you I guess. Work hard at one and loose ground on another. Long story short, I got a pathetic 125 lift, goodbye gain I just got from my squat......crushing!!!

Next was my deadlift. I approached this with the most confidence but not enough thought. Opened on 230 which was not super clean but I didn't struggle with it. I then, instead of going for 235 I went straight to 240, fast off the ground up it came and then a battle to lock it out. Hmmm, not a problem I thought, I will nail it second time around. Again, fast off the floor and by then to be honest I was toasted and could not get the lock out.

So after 5 weeks of hard training I went surging ahead only to be pulled back again and put in my place.

195 Squat up 15

125 Bench down 10

230 Dead down 5

So at the end of the day I walk away even but wiser. All this means is that I have to put my head down, work hard and be smart on my next test day.

Steak and Wes thanks guys for the help and trying to keep me focused. 10kg weight, sorry for kicking you around.

Will be posting my next cycle up and could use your input and methods of keeping focused.
