max grip is great for shirted lifts, but the standard 'pinkys on the rings ' is a good starting point....

I have had pinkys on the rings- isn't that the max you can go in competition? 81cm I think? There's no minimum though?

it doesnt hurt to mix your grips up when trainering..makes you strong all over the range

i found myself saying this word outta the blue this morning, the Vee sayings are spreadering!! :pfft: :pfft:

\:D/

:pfft: God knows how any of my students understand me, they go out into the workforce thinkering this is how everybody in the industry speaks :shifty:

All of our lifters at CBC that have done 37HV have got good gains so it's worth the slog

No pain no gain etc etc!

Stop it you two... what are you, like Boris' new BFFs  heck, you're even making me want to do 37HV

You know you want to!

Hi Vee, Sheiko question for you: on 37HV, week 1, day 2 (deadlifts) am I rift in thinking the dips are aimed at chest, not triceps ?

Hmmm good question! I think they are for triceps, they are after incline bench and good tricep strength is the key to big benching! I could well be wrong though, maybe Mister Steakmister might know for sure? :-s

Depth would be the teller of the muscle you're working. When you're doing triceps you go just below parallel and back up. With chest, you go all the way down and come back up above parallel (not locking out) with your feet kicked out from underneath you.

Yes but what does Boris require chest or triceps worked?

Exactly... it's back day, so (accepting that "dips" are, like incline bench on the Sheiko template, not the target muscle on the day), so which is the target muscle for those "non-working" exercises?

Excuse the noob question.. But how does the belt help you with feeling more supportive? Does it make your back feel more secure?

Yeh it does. I have tried to use it before for deads and felt like I was being cut in two so stopped using it. I had a good helpful hint from somebody to LOOSEN it slightly for deads which makes sense!

It kinds keeps that bit nice and straight which is good!

sound advice!, Belt tight for squats for the Fight or flight response, but for deads i usually have it loose so i can fit 2 fingers in the gap between my puku and belt
