pinning into the blood

Recommended Posts

Never done it directly into blood supply, but have had on two occasions drawn blood into the syringe during aspiration. Enough to know I had stopped inside a vein.

I have heard to pull back and go for it, but I had already created an access point into the vein, that oil under pressure may follow, so I withdrew completely, and sadly pushed the blood oil out (to reduce confusion when I do it again. Bloody Lava Lamp!), and re-entered a cm away from the initial site.

Then next pin session, I added a bit more to cover the loss. It wasn't much, so it wasn't like I was killing my progress.

I think anyone who draws blood, and goes 'what the hell...' and pins, is an idiot, because why would they check in the first place, if they were not interested why they did it in the first place.

If people don't check, then they wouldn't know they injected into a vein, until maybe they got negative effects, if any occurred. If any. The air you pushing through is pretty minimal, if you go through the motions correctly think, would check first, before the plunge.

Some people don't mind it (some even posted no aspirations on youtube!), and go for it with a push straight away, but the majority in the scene would check, to be safe. Unless med students are more confincing than actual gear users (wtf was his name??)

I feel twice having a lava lamp, is pretty bloody  good odds, so far. But I wouldn't inject if I drew blood.

Just my opinion.

I hit a vain for the first time today and shat my pants. My leg twitch/spasmed and i pulled out straight away, got rid of the blood and injected a cm down with no problems :)

Was it a vein, or a nerve ....... :pfft: :pfft: :pfft:

can anyone tell me just how bad it actually is to pin test into the bloodstream? Anyone here ever done it?

You may occasionally hit a vein & go through it....

best to pull out & try again...

Take a close look before you stick it in, you can generally see the most promenant veins, & avoid them.... If they're not too clear, bend your leg a few times or give it a rub, they may stand out more...

You can try pressing hard over the area you are about to inject, to feel for a nerve under the skin... Avoid those at all costs...!!!! :pfft:

I have on occasions immediately after injecting started coughing & being unable to stop.. I did wonder if I had maybe gone through a vein & some oil had got into the bloodstream & was being exited via my lungs...

Never seemed to be much of a problem, more of an annoyance till the bloody coughing stopped.... :?

Takes a decent amount of air or oil to be injected directly into the vein to become a problem but better safe than sorry. You should try looking at some Gray's anatomy images or something to get an idea where the major veins and nerves are so you can avoid them. You can avoid injecting into veins by aspirating but nerves would hurt like a bitch so watch out for those.
