Milk

Milk has been a staple of my diet for most of my life....and so has acne.

I did a bit of reading and discovered that although milk is a great source of protein and calcium the hormones present in the pregnant cows can have a toxic effect on the human body, in my case, I'm theorising that it's causing my acne.

Anyone else have problems with milk?

I haven't had any acne problems from milk and haven't heard of milk causing acne before. If you think it's from the milk why don't you decrease the amount of milk your drinking and see if it clears up. Alternatively you can ask your doctor for minocycline tabs. I've been using them for a month now and have already noticed a big difference in my acne.

Btw how old are you?

After a period of trial and error, it appears that Milk is not the culprit.

I did a bit of foraging on the net. Two more things that turned up as possible causes were Gelatin and Iodine.

I gave up all dairy/milk products for a week....no change.

So I gave up my EFA caps for a week...no change.

I then gave up my Multi-Vitamin, which contained Iodine.....and success!

Bizarre stuff eh?

Now I'm on a B complex which has a whole shitload of vitties....without Iodine :-)

I have had a strange experience with milk.

My diet is very tight and clean - which is the way I like to keep it all year round. However, up until a month ago I was drinking alot of milk, with my 8 to 9 protein shakes and myabe a litre of milk before bed. My physique seemed to be worsening rather than improving - and after trying various things I decided to completely remove milk from my diet. The result: a much tighter/harder physique.

My theory, milk isn't good for islanders, full stop. Actually i think all dairy products are crap for polys, our bodies don't seem to be made to be able to digest it very well.

I'm poly and don't have probs with milk. Maybe with the 8-9 protein shakes + extra litre before bed you were overdoing it? So of course, when you cut it out completely... less cals in = tighter physique?
