Hi all!,

Have just registered on here. Looks to be good for advice! I'm just beginning training with the NZFS. Reeeaally need to increase my upper body strength. I get up early to go to the local gym for weight training and do my cardio workout in the afternoon.

Would anyone be able to reccommend a good meal suppliment for women for dinner? Low carb? or a protein shake?

Looking forward to chatting with you all

Heyya,

I'm no expert, but i love Gaspari Myofusion protein shakes, and find they are great for meal replacements, or just adding more protein into my diet.

Fav flavour is banana, but i'm about to try the choc mint flavour, so i'll let you know how that goes.

Good luck!

Perm or voly? Are you training to get into the fire service or are you already in and at the training centre?

Voly, Our little town is too small for permanents, although when I move to the city I hope to join as permanent. Already in but haven't been on the 5day course yet, and I don't want to be under-prepared.

update on the choc mint... its not awesome like i love the banana flavour, but its not terrible either, about the same as the strawberry cream flavour.

so if you did try myofusion, go for a 2lb'r until you find ya fav

I love things that are choc and mint flavor. Does it taste just like choc and mint or is it strange tasting?

  • 3 weeks later...

I only use Myofusion, everything else I tried doesn´t even come close to the taste! I agree that the Choc Mint is bad, though all the other flavours are awesome, especially the Milk chocolate!

I wouldn´t recommend using a protein supplement for dinner, though, you would be much better off eating a good serving of lean meat or fish with vegetables. I have a shake before bed sometimes if I´m ereally hungry or as part of breakfast but as a rule I wouldn´t use it for a meal replacement.
