Diet advice template

Pseudo, we should add into the nutrition forum a sub-forum for diet advice and create a template of questions and other things e.g. height, weight etc so that the usual suspects don't have to ask all the time. People asking are generally newbies so don't know any better

OR an even easier idea would be to put a sticky at the top of the forum asking newbees to use the search function :pfft:

I understand everybody needs help but most questions have been answered more than once and can be found in a shorter time using a search than posting.

Yeah but the issue with this is that everyone is different, training differently etc. As tom said in another thread, you can be in a calorie deficit and still be fat, but if they were to read "eat 200-500kcal below maintainance" they wont be getting very far

Yip I see your point PD.

My problem is that all the advice given here (most of it good) is advice given without knowing the person and taking their (sometimes way off the mark) word for it. Really all advice here is a rough guide and should be taken as such. If they wont accurate advice then a professional opinion is needed. I'm still sure using the search engine to hunt out old posts with similar stats should be the first point of call.

Just my opinion :)

I think the resources tab has some diet basics right? Why not make that into a thread that's "sticky"?

professional advice?

just because they are paying someone doesnt mean they are getting any better advice.. i could call myself a nutritionalist and set up a bussiness legitmatley and charge $100 per consult and my adivce wouldnt be any better than advice i give on here. or you go to a jenny craig or tony ferguson type program which is supposedly professional advice when its just someone on a minimum wage whos attended a couple of 3 hour courses telling you what to do.

i agree with what you are saying to a point.

most of time fat ppl cant stick to a diet plan so they dnt change and the person who helped them or the diet method gets blamed because the client cant admitt they failed.
