Hi, I am a 24yr old female, I have got into working out at the gym over the last couple of years and loved it. Currently moved to Hamilton and got a bit unwell so havent done much for about three months. Doesn't take long to lose fitness!! Want to get back onto it now but thought I would take it to the next level right from the get go. Just wondering if there is anyone who would like to be a training partner to give me a couple of pracical tips or if you know any trainers who would be good. I would like to get to the point to maybe be able to go to a competition, well thats the long term goal anyway.

Thanks Heaps

You're right there hun. Have a read here viewtopic.php?f=3&t=10920

Other than that, people on here are really helpful and knowledgeable. Ignore shutupandsquat (unless you know him personally and took his comment as a joke). Nearly all of us are happy to help.

Sorry love :P I did plan to have an input anyway.

You may have friends who are interested in keeping fit or becoming fit and healthy etc. so you could easily just get a friend and the people on this forum are sure to help. I've seen that a majority of women train differently to men so you will have to get the advice from the girl's probably. Just remember to stick to a good diet. High carbs (technically it isn't high, it's the amount you should have, but more than that of the average person I guess) protein and all that jazz.

Hi, Thanks for that. My diet isnt too bad, no fast food and stuff like that. Just cereal for breakfast, sandwich for lunch and an average cooked tea, normally stir-fry. A fairly normal diet, nothing spectacular. I'll work on it though =-)

Cool thanks, will try to do that. Don't want to put on any fat though, thats what I want to lose! Love to get some muscle. Do you know any good trainers in Hamilton? I go to a gym but its just an average Joes so no body builders there. Would one of there trainer be as efficient as someone who trains bodybuilders for a living?

Um, probably not... purely my 2c worth, a trainer who's good at prepping rugby or netball players probably won't be as good in the specifics needed for bodybuilding as someone who specialises in bodybuilding. To get you started, they might be adequate but probably not in the long run.
