Sleep Supplements

Hey all,

I am looking for an effective sleep aid/supplement that i can purchase in NZ, since ZMA hasn't seemed to work for me, i have been thinking of grabbing a Valerian product from one of the supplement sites but the doses vary and im not sure what would be more effective.

I am sleeping, probably as much a normal person does, But i hear from people how they get vivid dreams, and really deep sleep from sleep products, and if there is something that can give me this i want it.

If you can find any, try taking 500 - 1000mg of the amino acid tryptophan 30 mins before wanting to go to sleep. It makes your dreams so vivid, you will find it hard to believe that your were only dreaming.

5-HTP helps with serotonin. if it actually works.... who konws

I've tried 5-HTP and it worked for me. With sleep, not with vivid dreams. But it did make me a bit 'dreamy' during the day.

melatonin puts you into a deep sleep. do get some weird dreams on it.

I would have to say that when I was taking them all I woke up with was a major headache, like it was a hangover. I then started taking something from the doctor.... Now I am no longer working night shifts, I no longer require any form of sleeping aid.

I have to say that I think taking something to help you to remember your dreams is a bit off. If you take a couple of minutes before getting up in the morning to think about what you have dreamt about, everyone dreams every night, If you remember them in the morning it another thing. Have a go and see, if you still want to take it them go for it, try to keep it as natural as possible.

My sister tried before the sleep supplement MX 5-HTP. I don't know if it's available in your country but i think it's available since their in global market. They said it really promotes sleep help and support for sleep disorders.

Meletonin is illegal in NZ... like everything good. Just go to your doctor and tell him your a shift worker and stuggling to maintain sleep patterns. Get some Zopiclone. Half a tab works great.

It's not illegal, but I'm pretty sure it requires a prescription. I'd take Melatonin over Zopiclone anyday.
