Im looking for a MMA gym to train at preferabbly in south/east auckland but not too fussed. Want to join in for the conditioning but also combining striking and ground work instead of having to go to different gyms for each!

Strikeforce Auckland! 10 Drury St New Lynn. Not exactly South/East but the best in Auckland and in NZ

bro mine was serious question. why not just choose sumthign stick to it conquere it then move on to next goal. ul never be good at anything if u always chopping and changing goals.

Know what you saying bro! PLing and MMA won't help each other.. As you know with the power cardio experience.

Depends if he wants to compete seriously in PLing or not..

if u join a serious mma gym chances are most of the guys there are training 4-6 times a week... you have to committ to that if u want to do well. if u go once or twice a week ur just gonna be a fucken victim forever lol to guys who are training twice and 3 times as much as u per week..

just sayn bro..

TT less than month ago u wanted to be bench specialist now u wanna be mma fighter? whats going on bro? mid life crisis at 20 years old?

Where did I say that I wanted to become a fighter?? All Im looking for is somewhere to do my conditioning 1-2x pw.

u said striking and ground work also... dont make excuses.

look bro u can take this advice or not its not biggie to me...

when shit gets too hard to handle, work harder! your constantly changing ur goals you not gonna get anywhere doing that. when something gets hard for u u try find sumthing else that u can perhaps do that will be easier... you think ull get a 200kg bench doing mma? no ur not.

its all good to chop and change when u young thats the beauty of it.. but not on a monthly basis. stop talking about what your gonna do and instead put in some fucken hard yards grow some man sacks and do something! i think ur a good guy with potential, i would like to see you acheive something. im just being honest here, dont take it the wrong way instead use it as motivation to achieve a goal.

my goal is the total i want at bbro, im shooting for the stars. hey i might land on the moon and not get it. but that my goal and im putting all of my possible effort into achieving that. and i wont stop till i get it if not this year ill continue next year. when iv got it ill make a new goal.

it takes hard work to achieve somthing great, nothing great comes easy.

Tom- I agree. Im picking up what you throwing down. Oh ive been adding in dry oats mixed with cold water as suggested. Goes down a charm. Cheers for the kick up the arse bro real talk

Rook- Just for general well being and to keep as close to 105 as I can. My weight will explode up once I bump up the cals even more so the cardio was to keep it in check. Me and a few mates do some amo as muay thai and grappling in me garage for conditioning be good to go to a proper gym once in a while thats all.

You should also check out Steve Oliver as well. He has a Gracie Barra School in Auckland that is highly rated and I hear he is a top guy as well. If your looking to improve your conditioning I would suggest you look into this as an option.

Gracie Barra is all about learning BJJ in a safe and welcoming environment. They certainly don't have dicks there. Nice bunch of guys, big on respect.

Also my two cents worth regarding MMA and strength training. If you want to learn to fight, get plenty of mat time and keep to a very basic weight training routine. As your improve and your skill sets get better then mix it up and do different things. But for the first few years hit the mats and the ring and make this your priority.

Keep it simple.
