CLA?

hmm read this off wikipedia

"There are concerns that the use of CLA supplements by overweight people may tend to cause or to aggravate insulin resistance, which may increase their risk of developing diabetes.[8] Commercially available supplements contain equal mixtures of two CLA isomers: the cis-9, trans-11 isomer (also known as rumenic acid, the predominant CLA isomer in milk and beef) as well as the trans-10, cis-12 (t10c12) isomer. All other isomers ratios found in the scientific literature are not comercially available. It is the trans-10, cis-12 isomer that is linked to many adverse side effects. Research indicates that supplementation with t10c12 CLA dramatically increases rates of oxidative stress, to levels considerably higher than that observed in heavy smokers.[8] However, the evidence is controversial, and some studies using a mixture of c9t11 and t10c12 CLA showed no changes in insulin sensitivity.[30][31] A study in 2007 use the euglycemic hyperinsulinemic clamp method which is the gold standard, to evaluat einsulin resistance. The study performed in 49 obese or overweight individuals taking 3.2g CLA per day for 6 months found no adverse effects on blood glucose management. In addition, the long term studies of 1 and 2 years have found CLA supplementation to be safe with no outstanding adverse events."

sunflower? safflower

ill look into it, cheers.

No sweat man, safflower's 80% & I think that sunflower's around 40. Just buy some cold pressed from a health food shop & take it off a spoon . Much cheaper than shelling out hard earned cash for literally cents worth of capsulated oil.

I think you'd only see benefit if your diet didn't contain natural sources of CLA

Ie. meats (excluding fish), dairy (raw milk), eggs, mushrooms, and safflour oil itself

Its been known that getting a beneficial amount of CLA through natural foods is hard as you must consume a load of calories to get the optimal amount.

I call bullshit on that. CLA caps are pretty much 80-90 percent safflower oil.

So if I cooked a steak or chicken in some safflower/sunflower cooking oil, or drizzled some on my salads...I think i'd get enough CLA.

^^^NZ PRODUCT^^^

Funny you should mention Caffeine Josef, the following link shows how combining the two aid in fat loss. The article itself states that CLA or Coffee alone doesn't reward you with a huge amount of weight loss but together a greater effect.
