Help me make some tweaks

Well nevr thought id be the one asking for advice on how to bulk up  but alas I am. Since ive been cutting my bw down ive been using a modified paleo type diet which has become "normal" eating for me. Im looking on putting on a few good kilo's over the next couple of months so I sit around 110 before I start cutting down to make weight (Cheers SG for the idea, thought it through a bit more and think its a good way to go).

anyway my current diet is this

200g lean beef or 300g chicken or 5 whole eggs + 2 bananas or greenage or tinned fruit. Also have 500ml milk post train and pre bed.

repeat that 5-6 times and thats my daily eats. Not very thought out in terms of macros etc but its simple to prepare and I can down a meal in 2 mins or less. Just a note im not a big fan of supplements (cant afford them anyway :pfft: )

any help is much appreciated!

Could maybe do with adding some fish or olive oil for a bit more 'healthy' fats, but otherwise don't see why it wouldn't work fine. Plenty of protein, fruit and veges. Just keep an eye on the mirror as usual to make sure it is a few good kilos, and not bad ones

So you planning on training hard and eating plenty to build up a bit more muscle and strength, and then cut down prior to comp hoping to keep that muscle and strength?

dude, no offence but thats one shit diet lol... i mean its better than fast food but 2 bananas 5-6 times a day? lol tinned fruit which has a pack of sugar in every can..

i dnt see it as a sucessful bulking diet or a sucessful cutting diet... i mean what exactly are u trying to acheive?

i can understand having not alot of money as i have also been in same situation but there are much better options even for when we going thru a time where cash is tight.

why not rice, potatoe, oats? these are bulking foods and are cheap.

whey protein,,, most economical form of protein gram for gram... many uses too.

Haha yea bro I realised it wasnt anything spectacular, been in a bit of a low spot on cash so Ive run down all the supplies I could find. what I outlined above was something I used to help get my weight down. Basically after training I cut out all the fruit and shit and just have greens.

Currently looking at putting on more muscle.

So you think I should change the carb sources to rice potatoes oats and the like? Only work weekends now so have the whole week to eat sleep and train.

definitly, those carb sources i listed are far superior to 2 bananas. i only ever have a banana pre and post workout. the carbs i listed will be cheaper than bananas too.

also buy some whey protein, doc squat has 1kg for $40 fucken cheap. and then u would have half the portion of ur steak or chicken and have some oats and protein powder to make up the rest of the protein u losing from that other half of meat... this will save u money on meat and ull be just as sucessful doing it.

the tinned fruit is absolute crap... id only ever have that shit post workout after iv stuck some insulin in my stomach. its no good.

keep the greens, forzen is just as good as fresh... prob cheaper and wont run risk of them going off resulting in a waste of money.

AH sweet bro Ill be in contact with doc soon 8)

So if im say, having 6 meals a day, 3 meals will be using steak/ chicken, 3 using PP?

cheers for your help dude!

that.... or what i meant was split your meat PORTIONS in half not the meat meals.

so u are having meat with every meal but also topping it up with whey or even a few eggs...

its just one way bro.

good luck.

Agree with Tom bro, I did a full paleo for 4 months to clean up bf% and soon as I introduced kumara, rice etc back in, strength went insane! Never had fruit on paleo, except berries post w.o. Also did paleo+ dairy for a month which was ok but buying 2L of milk every day wasnt economical.

TBH I'm saving a lot more money having a balanced diet, since like Tom said good carbs are cheap.

All the best cuz and get eating

Not a bad idea. But if you really want to save some cash, this will be one of the cheapest options for whey. Cheaper the more you buy too.

good price bro cant find much cheaper than that unless you want to buy bulk amounts

Also im not sure if your a fan of white rice. But it works out really cheap and easy to cook n keep it for few days. ( i do this nyway)

If you do decide to buy rice for carbs then i do recommend you check out some indian stores as they have 20kg white rice for 50$ or so. Pak n save and other super markets are quite expensive interms of rice.

Also basmati rice (low GI) if you prefer is also cheaper there.

Good luck.
