All 3 Federation Nationals are in Auckland

Nabba NZ is on 1st October, Nabba-WFF is on 8th October and NZIFBB is on 15th October. All are in Auckland.

I have checked the airlines and the cheapest one way fare to Auckland for this period is $149 with Jetstar. Air New Zealand is over $200.

There is going to be problems because the Rugby World cup is on at the same time. Accommodation is going to be scarce or non-existent.

Could get interesting for out of towners looking to compete.

I'd heard that, sounds daft to me... accommodation and travel will be at a premium...

I've heard folks being quoted a CHEAPEST airfare on Air NZ DUD-AKL return is nearly $1000....

Suddenly, Christchurch or Wellington, after the RWC Quarter Finals, starts to look like a bright idea.

Worst of all, NZIFBB nats are on the same night as the RWC semis. :x

FAIL!

They will surely change the date / venue?

It might be a good idea for all feds to take the opportunity to run their Nationals in a province? Lets face it events like these seem to be as well supported numbers wise in smaller towns (if not better) than in Auckland?

That and the fact that venue / accomodation costs are a fraction of main centre costs might make it an attractive option?

Just a thought.

I think Nate has hit the nail on the head, nats need to be away from Auckland and should probably go to a provincial town.

I was checking out prices today for the NABBA/WFF Nats and even thanks to my industry rates we won't get change out of $800. Far to much to fork out for a plastic trophy. May have tocall on mates for a floor somewhere to minimize the damage.

Hopefully all the Feds take a serious look at this soon.

I also think that is a very good thought by Nate by taking all three Nats to the Provinces and small towns which wouldn't hit the athlet hard in the pocket for accomadtion in a small town plus given what I have heard for the price of accomation durring the world cup paying twice the amout for what ever accomation that may be.Fail is right having the NZIFBB Nats on the same night as Rugby world cup semi finals that sounds like a good idea by changing the date and the venue. If the athlete who is competing in one of the three nats and they have got tickets to one of the two semi finals they can't be two places and the same time.

Well i dont know about other federations but Wendz, Gary ,Alex and Leanne the promoters :D of the nabba wff Nats have done there home work as i have checked the itinerary for the 8th of october it is as follows Sat Oct 8 18:00 41

QF1: W Pool C v RU Pool D Wellington Wellington Regional Stadium

Sat Oct 8 20:30 42

QF2: W Pool B v RU Pool A Christchurch Stadium Christchurch

No games in Auckland , pretty good i thought , hey its the world cup no where is ideal . Christchurch had a terrible year last year with the earth quake and we pulled together to have 2 very successful shows didnt hear any moans about that . Perhaps people should moan a little less and suck it up . If worse comes to worse pitch a tent . If your passionate about your sport you will work it out you have 10 mths to do it .

Hawks is a NABBA/WFF Official & is referring to the NABBA/WFF Nationals on the 8th October. There are no RWC games on in Auckland on the 8th. Its NZIFBB that are scheduled on 15th.

I see what Hawks is saying but I think we are all referring to the fact that the major centers will be ridiculously expensive even if it isn't game day.

I'm sure we will all find ways to get there, just worried that numbers (and therefore company income) will suffer because of the expense of accommodation and flights.

Up and back in a day could be the way to go bro? The weigh in might mean this is not an option? Maybe they can work it out so you can be weighed in and registered locally?

Anyway, just some thoughts. I know that the organisers have put in a lot of time and effort into planning so that it will be a successful event. NABBA/WFF now seems to be the premier federation.

Thanks all for your valuable input.

Yes organising is well under way for the PAN PACIFIC and the NABBA/WFF Nationals and Official Qualifier - Nabba Universe Southport and we have/are putting a lot of hard work/thought/passion into this event.

The dates are ideal and do not clash with the other events including the scheduled cup games. Flights from destinations such as CH-WN-BOP for the NATS are all under $320 return at the mo after a check a few mins ago.

Accom may be a bit of a test of your willingness to hunt out a bargain so best to start now phoning up friends/relatives/hostels and indeed anyone else you know who is competing in the comps to ask if they would like to share accomodation.

We will be sharing information on possible accomodation for the NATS as it comes to hand.

Introduction posters for the Auckland Pan Pacific will be delivered out to Gyms and stores this coming week.

If your local gym or store doesn't have one by the end of the week ask them to contact Leanne by emailing 2refine1@gmail.com

Remember that the NABBA/WFF NATIONALS is also the Official Qualifier - For the Nabba Universe Southport UK on Sat 29th October, a great chance to make your mark Internationally.

Thanks to everyone for your continued support

Yes very unfortunate. It was already an expensive exercise but I think it may have just got worse.

I think the feds are between a rock and a hard place, moving them to November would cause just as many issues as there are already.

Wait and see I guess

I think moving all three nats to November which would have been the better option to do instead of having all three nats in October and having the nats in November which would hit the athlet hard in pocket for flights to Auckland and accomadtion would be cheaper compare to durring the world cup would be very expensive.
