What do you guys weigh at the moment? I presume most of you are in offseason mode.

How much do you usually go above comp weight? If competitive bodybuilder.

Im 104kgs @ the mo and probably about 10 above comp condition.

Please no exagerated BS.:naughty:

Without wanting to start another debate on mass etc what point does mass overcome symmetry especially in regards to shorter BB

Guess what I'm trying to ask without asking

and perhaps PD or shutupand squat or even Dr Squat could answer for a 5'3" individual what would be the mass point that go from NZBB/NABBA contest winner to over built out of proportion?

So what you are asking is at what point (weight wise) would a short BB begin to lose their proportions/symmetary/shape?

Like everything, this would come down to genetics. I think the biggest pro at our size is Lee Priest. Kevin English is a few inches taller and alot of people hate his physique but no one has really seen him at his "real" contest weight as he usually diets down to the 202's but reckons he could be in better condition at 240lbs

I don't pretend to be a bodybuilder but...

The issue of size/proportions etc. Have a look at someone like Mark Anderson. He's 5 foot 3 ish and to me he strikes me as being a guy who gets better with more muscle. I expect he will be closer to 100 kg than 90 kg on stage and he will be as dry as a biscuit.

That's the view of a passionate spectator. Others will have a different view of course. And I'm not the expert here.

176cm never above 88-89kg but currently 86kg after cleaning the diet up a wee bit before start of diet in Feb.

What is your competition weight bro? Or likely weight?

Hey Doc

Last year it was 78.6kg at all the weigh in's. Normally I only put on a kilo overnight so 79ish on stage. Would like to be struggling to make weight class which is 81kg, when that starts happening I'll change classes. At the moment I don't really care what my comp weight us as long as I'm in good condition and full.

Just in relation to the weight vs height thing in regard to symmetry, I think it's a shape thing really. If you have a narrow structure and big hips then you're already stuffed but if the opposite applies then if you can put muscle on proportionately then your shape will basically be the same just bigger won't it?

And of course it is very very subjective.

Pepetual bulking is where its at...no off season

Haha I was waiting for this big guy

Harley, since you dropped 15kg (good job btw) have you managed to maintain strength? Do you think you'll cut before a lifting meet to make a certain weight class?

Personally I will always try and stay within 7-8kg of stage weight, have blown out in the past and cutting is such a hassle, lose muscle on the way down and waste time dieting when I could be still lean bulking

Right now mate im sitting right at the tail end of the 105 class so no need to drop much more. Id really be pushing my luck to squeeze down to the next class in terms of maintaining strength which would be 93s. If we had 24hr weigh ins I would definetley drop the water weight but we have no such luxury :pfft:

In terms of strength Im actually getting stronger(bench in particular), I can fell the difference when squatting though without that big gut definetley dont feel as stable but then again once I get into training them hard again theyll shoot up (well im hoping! ) maybe theyre right when they say fat isnt strong?

I'm thinking if you find yourself sitting around 108-109 4 weeks out you'll lose a little bit to slot into the 105s though right?

I've managed to maintain strength while cutting and as u said, even got stronger in some lifts. Not having a 'shelf' or 'power gut' hasn't impeded me at all, just got to lift a different way to compensate

offseason.... hmm think i got up to 103. doing it again this year things would be different though , rather bulk slowly so i stay lean rather than be a fat f*ck who eats all in site..... seriously cant be healthy ay.

Are you planning on competing?

hmmmm not anytime soon, going all natty for a while so might give powerlifting a shot later this year if i can get strength up.

Came down from 112 to 87 last time.

Wouldnt recommend it to anyone and some of the dietaries used are outlawed now and the body will eventually catch up with you one way or another.

BB is normally a lifestyle choice whereby most remain in reasonable condition all year round and have a reasonable physique to launch from .Believe me Its not feasible to continually take off and put on vast amounts of weight without eventual repercussions.
