Protein Shake Longevity

Hi there. I'm just curious about the longevity of protein shakes.

I typically make mine in the morning with breakfast, then bike to the gym workout for 1.5 hours and drink it immediately after the workout.

So between making it and drinking there is approximately a 2 hour delay.

Does this effect the value of the protein shake? What is the ideal? Or doesn't it not matter at all?

Cheers

Michael

I don't think it is a big deal unless it spills in your bag. Sucking your bag to get 40 grams of protein is not ideal.

Why add water to your shake at the gym?

However it does separate the dedicated from the not so

Doubt it would matter unless you're using milk, but as doc said you can just add water at the gym. Surely there's a fountain?

I don't just add protein at the gym for three reasons.

1) I use the Unflavoured 100% Ion Exchange WPI which doesn't mix well by just being shaken with water.

2) When it is just mixed with water it takes fucking awesome. Makes me nearly throw up.

3) I try to blend it with some berries to get my carbs in after working out (and some flavour) as well as coconut cream to get some basic fats.

WPI mix-ability should be real good

Balance Unflavoured 100% Ion Exchange WPI is NON instantised so won't mix for shit. Not sure why or when they started using that - must be cheaper than the instantised stuff. Also soy free, but will need a blender to mix it.

Does creatine deteriorate when it's in solution for a few hours?
It degrades pretty quick but think you've got like 60mins or something to drink it before it it starts to turn to complete shit.
