All time favourite strongmen

Ok so about time started a thread for all time favourite strongmen

I watched the WSM look back vid on youtube and man were there some feats of strength. Also Bill Kazmaier was asked a question about who would between him and Mariusz if he was in his peak condition, now that would be very cool to watch.

My current favourite strongmen:

Kevin Nee

Awesome work ethic and will power, just keeps going even if it means fainting on deadlifts or the crucifix hold thing

Mariusz Pudzianowski

Not much needs to be said about him, farken great athlete and awesome physique too

Now for the olden day strong men:

Bill Kazmaier

Awesome size and strength, a true strength athlete

want to hear your fav strongmen and why, sort of seems like WSM now isn`t as great as it was back in the day

Fav all time strongman of all time IMO Big Kaz, the dude was a monster benched 180 the first time he benched! Legendary powerlifter aswell. Next would have to be Jon pall sigmarson bodybuilder powerlifter and strongman had some good battles with kaz back in the day!

80's: Kaz, JPS, Geoff Capes

90's: Janne Virtanen, Magnus Samuelsson, Badenhorst

Current: Savickas, Kokylaev, Ortmayer

Had the honour of competing with Savickas and Ortmayer in 2009. Was an amazing week.

Don't think anyone in history comes close to Savickas for total strength. While most on this site would think he looks terrible, he even managed to beat Pudzianowski on speed events last time Pudz was in WSM.

Koklyaev is a brilliant showman, and probably the best all round strength athlete (SM, Oly, Powerlifting, Highlanders)

Ortmayer at his peak competes with ridiculous intensity. Love it.

Good call - wondered who put Capes up, I would of but the fact he now breeds budgies put me off! :pfft:  Great Strongman none the less!

Agree re: Savickas, unprecendented power, and a really humble guy to boot. Took me a while to click to his sense of humour with his pigeon english but he's a very clever guy as well.

Cosign Travis is unreal when he's in form. Misha too.

Thought you were a bit light in the 90's - lots of great competitors there in terms of performance, but I guess this is about favourites.
