I saw this elsewhere today

Subject: Newbie!!! Need advice

....

Don't be afraid of carbs, you need them to train hard and keep your blood sugar balanced so that you don't binge eat

And it raised another question for me .... is it carbs that keep the cravings away?

ie will someone on a full Keto diet have severe cravings so those with no will power end up binge eating, vs someone on a more balanced eating plan won't get the same cravings??

And if yes, what about the carbs does the trick - is it just the blood sugar levels as cantygirl mentions, or something more?

For me carbs as a snack just cause more cravings and then bingeing.

Keto diets tend to help suppress appetite, in my short experience with keto I certainly had no cravings, actually had to remind myself to eat. Of course everyone responds differently.

I'd also say carbs are the worst at balancing out blood sugar levels, the body is very adept at keeping blood sugar stable, it's after eating that it can spike, and carbs cause the greatest spikes.
