I did a few bodybuilding competitions back in my early 20's but am now fast approaching 38 and have a couple of kids and a few more kg's to my name! Have kept active and still go to the gym but am lacking motivation.

This site and the forums look great for sharing ideas and keeping up the motivation. Would also like to know if there's anyone out there that goes to Lifestyle Gym in Lower Hutt that would be interested in training together?

Thanks!

Hey which shows did you do? I started competing about that same time and am about the same age as you.... yeah ok I am a little older. I am coming back to competing but I competed until 05. Didn't learn my lesson so thinking I might come back to getting my ass kicked again lol

Thanks. Not sure at this stage about competing. Did three shows in NZ back in 1998. Wgtn champs, Chch champs & Oceanias - all NZFBB. Got 2nd at Wgtn, 1st Chch and 2nd at Oceanias (52-57 novice womens). Obviously a while ago. Then moved to Sydney and bulked up a bit working out at City Gym with the big boys with the intention of more competing but my personal situation changed... Really just want a physique I can be proud of.

What do you think's more important at the start - the training or nutrition?
